Humans suffer from five types of laboring injuries (Wu Lao). The first is Zhi Lao (mental strain), the second is Si Lao (overthinking), the third is Xin Lao (heart strain), the fourth is You Lao (worry), and the fifth is Pi Lao (physical fatigue). These five laboring injuries damage the Five Viscera, causing Qi to rebel upwards, resulting in stiffness and dysfunction of the Zang organs.
To treat Wu Lao and Qi Shang (seven types of debilitating conditions), applicable for deficiency-cold in the Lower Jiao and spermatorrhea or urinary incontinence, it is suitable to consume the Medicinal Cake Formula to warm the waist and kidneys and strengthen Yang.
Fuzi (3g, processed until cracked, skin and navel removed) Shenqu (9g, lightly stir-fried) Ganjiang (3g, processed until cracked and chopped) Roushou Rong (4.5g, soaked in wine overnight, wrinkled skin scraped off) Sheep Marrow (9g) Bai Mian (White Flour)
The above herbs are crushed, passed through a fine sieve to become powder. Mix with flour, Su You (butter/ghee), Mi Feng (honey), sheep marrow, and Ru (milk). Add date flesh and knead thoroughly in a basin. Cover tightly to prevent air leakage and wind exposure. Leave for half a day to one day, then take out and knead again until well-blended. Form into large paste cakes, poke holes on the surface with chopsticks. Bake in an oven, turning over until cooked. Consume on an empty stomach daily.
