Treats fever and headache caused by cold damage (Ganmao), or heat combined with phlegm-fluid retention (Tan Yin) due to coagulation; it is suitable for all such cases. If the cause is cold damage with fever, follow this method: cover with a blanket and lie down, take several doses consecutively, and recover with slight sweating. For residual heat on the face, take it slowly, and it will naturally resolve. If the cause is phlegm, continue taking this medicine frequently over several days until the fever subsides; do not stop prematurely. Although it contains Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix) and Gan Ge (Puerariae Radix), which only release the muscle layer, the presence of Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus) and Ju Hong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) naturally widens the middle and relieves the diaphragm without damaging the spleen. It effectively treats fullness and distension in the Zhongwan region, vomiting, nausea, opens the appetite, and aids digestion, with nothing surpassing it. Do not doubt its efficacy because of its cool nature; it is effective for all types of fever, regardless of the specific cause. Children and unmarried women are also suitable for taking it.
Muxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, half liang) Zisu Ye (Perillae Folium) Gan Ge (Puerariae Radix, washed) Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, washed seven times in decoction, prepared with ginger juice, stir-fried) Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix, remove sprouts) Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma Bai, each half liang)
Cut the above ingredients into small pieces. Take four qian per dose, add one dan and a half of water, seven slices of fresh ginger, and one jujube. Decoct until six parts remain, strain, and take warm at any time. The *Yijian Fang* does not use Muxiang, containing only ten ingredients.
Treats seasonal epidemics, headache with neck stiffness, fever with aversion to cold, body pain, as well as wind-cold affecting the nose with congestion and heavy voice, cough with dizziness.
Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, soaked overnight in rice-washing water, sliced, dried, five liang) Gaoben (Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix, remove soil) Xiang Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, remove leaves and soil) Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, remove rhizome base)
Grind the above into fine powder. Take three qian per dose, add one dan of water, three slices of fresh ginger, and three cun of scallion white. Decoct until seven parts remain, take warm at any time. If feeling wind-cold with nasal congestion, simply mix with scallion tea and take.
It cures all diseases without exception. Regular use consolidates Yuan Yang (Primordial Yang), tonifies Qi, strengthens the spleen to promote eating, harmonizes the stomach to dispel phlegm, and naturally regulates Ying Wei (Nutritive and Defensive Qi). This medicine is extremely effective for treating cold damage in all seasons.
Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, remove bark, stir-fry with ginger juice) Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, soaked overnight in rice-washing water) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, each two liang) Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, remove white pith, stir-fry until yellow)
Grind the above into coarse powder. Take three qian per dose on an empty stomach. Add one dan of water and two slices of ginger. Decoct like brewing tea until eight parts remain. Boil the remaining dregs twice more and take them. For epidemics, seasonal qi pathogens, or "two-toxin" cold damage with severe headache and high fever, add five scallion whites with roots and thirty fermented soybeans (Chi Dou) to decoct together. After taking several doses, sweating leads to relief. If sweating does not occur, drink thin rice gruel and cover warmly with clothes to induce sweating for immediate recovery. For five labors and seven injuries, heat in palms and soles, restlessness, and joint soreness, add Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix, remove rhizome base) to decoct. For phlegm-cough and malaria, add Banxia prepared with ginger. For visceral qi pain, add Huixiang (Foeniculi Fructus). For edema due to water qi, add Sangbaipi (Mori Cortex). For leukorrhea (red and white discharge) in women, add Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix). For alcohol injury, add Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos). For food stagnation, add Gaoliangjiang (Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma). For seasonal diarrhea, add Roudoukou (Myristicae Semen). For wind diseases, add Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica). For cold pain in legs and knees, add Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix). For general stiffness and deficiency-fullness, add Digupi (Lycii Cortex). For leg bi-syndrome, add Tusizi (Cuscutae Semen). For white dysentery, add Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus). For red dysentery, add Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma). For head wind, add Gaoben. For spasms and cholera-like disorder, add Nanmu Pi (Phoebe Cortex). For the above auxiliary additions, add only one zhu.
This medicine is suitable for all ages, before and after childbirth, for five labors and seven injuries, six extremes and eight evils, tinnitus, blurred vision, nocturnal emission and night sweats, heaviness of limbs, soreness and pain in legs and knees, chronic cold of the uterus in women, and irregular menstruation. If taken once daily on an empty stomach, it improves complexion, plumps the body, harmonizes the San Jiao (Triple Burner), strengthens sinews and bones, dispels cold qi, soothes the chest and mind, with miraculous effects beyond description.
