Da Tong Sheng Bai Hua She San (Great Universal Holy White Flower Snake Powder): Indicated for various wind syndromes, whether recent or chronic, manifesting as traction and spasm of the hands and feet, weakness of the waist and legs, unsteady gait, mental confusion and dizziness, a choppy pulse, and copious phlegm-saliva. It is also indicated for tendon and vessel spasms, muscle numbness and insensibility, skin itching, vexatious pain in bone joints, or wandering pain without fixed location. When wind pathogen attacks upward, it causes facial edema, tinnitus, headache, and vertigo; when it sinks downward to the waist and legs, it causes lower back pain, heavy legs, swelling, itching, and sores. This formula is suitable for all such conditions.
Ingredients: Haitongpi (Cortex Tsoosapae), Duzhong (Cortex Eucommiae, chopped and stir-fried), Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae, sprouts removed), Ganxie (Scorpio, dried and stir-fried), Yuliren (Semen Pruni Persicae), Chijian Danggui [Note: Text implies Danggui with Chijian/Gastrodia context, but literally lists "Chijian Danggui"], Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, radix removed), [Text gap], Baifuzi (Rhizoma Typhonii, processed and roasted), Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae), Shanyao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae), Baihuashe (Bungarus multicinctus, wine-soaked), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, honey-fried), Weilingxian (Herba Clematidis, dirt removed). All ingredients are taken in equal parts, ground into fine powder. Take 1-2 qian per dose, mixed with warm wine; Jingjie Tang (Schizonepeta Decoction) may also be used. Take on an empty stomach. Regular use expels wind pathogen and promotes the circulation of Ying (Nutritive Qi) and Wei (Defensive Qi). For patients with chronic wind diseases, regular use is especially recommended. For mild stroke-like symptoms, recovery can be expected within twenty doses.
Xiao Feng San (Eliminate Wind Powder): Treats wind pathogen attacking upward, causing dizziness and pain in the head and eyes, stiffness and tension in the neck and back, vexatious pain in the limbs, muscle twitching, vertigo, tinnitus (cicada-like sound), somnolence, nasal congestion with frequent sneezing, skin numbness, itching, and urticaria. It also treats blood-wind syndrome in women, characterized by swollen and itchy scalp, pain in the supraorbital ridge, rotational vertigo, and nausea due to rebellious phlegm-Qi.
Ingredients: Jingjie Sui (Apex Schizonepetae), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, stir-fried), Xiongqiong (Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong), Qianghuo (Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii), Bai Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, stir-fried), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae, radix removed), Fuling (Poria, peel removed, white flesh used), Chanqiao (Periostracum Cicadae), Shu Dihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata), Chenpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, pith removed). Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with clear tea water. For chronic hemiplegic wind syndrome, take three times daily to feel relief. If sudden exposure to wind-cold occurs after bathing, causing headache, heavy body, alternating chills and fever, fatigue, and pain, mix with Jingjie clear tea or warm wine; both methods can be used together. For pediatric deficiency-wind syndrome, presenting with dry, dim, and tired eyes, as well as acute or chronic convulsive disorders (Jing Feng), take half a qian mixed with Rushiang Jingjie Tang (Frankincense and Schizonepeta Decoction), at any time.
