[Iron Pellet Pill]
Treats sudden onset of wind-stroke (Zhong Feng), characterized by unconsciousness, locked jaw, fixed gaze, convulsions of the limbs, deviation of the mouth and eyes, profuse salivation, and dysarthria. It also treats bone pain, paralysis or hemiplegia, numbness with loss of sensation, or irregular itching. It is indicated for all wind-diseases as well as traumatic injuries causing joint pain, as it unblocks collaterals and invigorates the blood vessels.
Frankincense (Grind separately) Myrrh (Grind separately, each 1 liang) Sichuan Aconite Root (Processed, remove skin, tip, and navel, grind into powder, 1.5 liang) Musk
First, finely grind Frankincense and Myrrh in a cool place. Then add Musk, followed by the powdered herbs, and grind again. Add water to mix into pills the size of a pellet. Take one pill per dose, ground down in Mint Wine, taken after meals and before bedtime.

[Great Sage's One-Pill Golden Elixir]
Treats sudden wind-stroke in men and women, manifesting as left-sided paralysis and right-sided flaccidity, limb convulsions, deviation of the mouth and eyes, profuse salivation, dysarthria, and head wind-pain. It treats all conditions attributed to wind-pathogens.
Large Black Prepared Aconite Child Root (Processed, remove skin and tip) Large Sichuan Aconite Root (Processed, remove skin and tip) New Korean White Aconite Root (Processed, each 2 liang) White Tribulus Fruit (Stir-fried to remove thorns) Pinellia Tuber (Steeped in Ginger Juice, sliced, dried) Arisaema Rhizome (Steeped in Ginger Juice, sliced, dried) Cinnabar Barium Sulfate (Water-triturated, grind separately) Realgar (Water-triturated, grind separately)
The first six ingredients are ground together into a fine powder. The last four ingredients are ground separately and mixed evenly. Take one cup of well-water, grind the mixture until it resembles ink paste, and use this liquid to knead the powders together. Pound in a mortar five hundred times to form pills the size of pellets. Coat with Gold Leaf and dry in a sealed container. Take one pill per dose, after meals and before bedtime, ground down in fresh Ginger Juice and taken with hot wine. Drink additional hot wine as desired, then lie down in a warm, draft-free place covered with blankets. Recovery occurs upon sweating. For mild cases, divide one pill into two doses. Avoid wind-inducing foods. Contraindicated in pregnancy.

[Frankincense Pain-Relieving Pill]
Treats various wind-pathogens, including left-sided paralysis and right-sided flaccidity, deviation of the mouth and eyes, hemiplegia, dysarthria, mental confusion, spasms due to phlegm obstruction, generalized numbness and bi-syndrome, wandering pain, weakness of the legs and knees, and difficulty walking. It also treats traumatic injuries with stagnant blood, fatigue-induced injury from walking causing swollen and painful legs and knees, or Kidney Wind-Toxin attacking upward causing facial swelling and tinnitus; or attacking downward causing heavy and painful legs and knees, or affecting the eyes. All these conditions are treated.
Dragon Bone (Soaked in wine overnight, dried, ground into powder, water-triturated three times, sun-dried, 4.5 liang) Centipede (6 pieces, remove tail spine, wrap in thin Lotus Leaf and roast) Scorpion (Remove toxicity, stir-fry) Sichuan Aconite Root (Processed, remove skin and tip) Gynostemma Aconite Root (Processed, remove skin and tip) Momordica Seed Kernel (7 seeds)
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Use vinegar paste to form pills the size of Sophora Seeds. Take 5 to 7 pills per dose, swallowed with cold wine or cold tea. Timing is not restricted. Avoid hot foods for one shichen (two hours). This medicine is best taken before sleep. Avoid damp-producing foods, fried/roasted items, dried meats, and foods that generate heat or induce wind.
