See the formula in the "Fanwei (Reversal Flow) Section".
Treat incessant vomiting.
Herbs: Huoxiang (Agastache Herba), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum - soaked in decoction seven times), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex - processed with ginger juice and stir-fried), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma - soaked in rice-washing water and stir-fried), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium - each 2 qian).
Gancao (Licorice Root, amount appropriate).
Take as one dose. Add two zhong of water, five slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), and one Hongzao (Jujubae Fructus). Decoct until one zhong remains. Take at any time.
Treat cold-deficiency of the spleen and stomach, loss of appetite, Fanwei (reversal flow/vomiting), and vomiting.
See the formula in the "Fanwei (Reversal Flow) Section".
Treat various cases of hiccups and vomiting, hardness and fullness below the heart, phlegm-fluid retention in the diaphragm, and dizziness.
Herbs: Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum - 5 qian), Fuling (Poria - 3 qian).
Take as one dose. Add two zhong of water. Decoct until one zhong remains. Strain the dregs. Add Jiangzhi (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens Juice) and boil for two or three more boils. Take hot at any time.
Treat vomiting where even liquids cannot be retained, food is vomited immediately after ingestion, constipation occurs, or diarrhea is incomplete and unsatisfactory, accompanied by frequent abdominal pain and distension, difficulty in food passage, or obstruction of the large intestine, small intestine, and bladder leading to upward vomiting.
See the formula in the "Shanghan (Cold Damage) Section".
Treat vomiting, eliminating middle-jiao fullness and qi stagnation, phlegm-rebellion causing nausea, long-standing accumulation, sallow complexion with abdominal distension, disharmony of the zang-fu organs, and failure of water and grain to be properly transformed by the spleen and stomach.
Herbs: Chenxiang (Aquilaria Lignum), Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos), Liuhuang (Sulfur - separately ground and washed with water using the floating method), Binglang (Arecae Semen - wrapped in flour, baked until cooked, flour removed), Hujiao (Piperis Longi Fructus), Moyao (Myrrha), Dansha (Cinnabaris - 1 liang).
Mix with white flour to form cakes.
Except for the separately ground herbs, grind the remaining herbs into fine powder. Mix evenly with the separately ground herbs. Combine with refined honey to make pills the size of mung beans. Store in a porcelain box and seal tightly. Take two pills per dose before meals and before bedtime, administered with warm Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Juapi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) decoction. Adjust dosage according to the patient's deficiency or excess condition.
Treat vomiting with food expulsion, which indicates excess pathogenic factors attacking strong healthy qi, meaning there is no accumulation. Stomach excess causes dry heaving with sound but no matter; Spleen excess causes vomiting with abdominal pain. Treatment should focus on harmonization. This formula is also known as Dingxiang Banxia Tang (Clove and Pinellia Decoction).
Herbs: Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix - each 1 qian), Banxiaqu (Pinelliae Fermentum - 1 liang), Binglang (Arecae Semen - 2 qian), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria - each 5 qian), Gancao (Licorice Root - 4 qian).
Grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with thickly decocted Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) decoction. If pain is due to accumulation, pressing makes it worse; if no accumulation, pressing does not cause pain. Another variation excludes Dingxiang (Clove).
