Treats conditions of Qi deficiency and Yang collapse, characterized by cold body, absence of pulse, faint breath as if about to cease, unconsciousness, as well as Yin-cold Jue (cold extremities) in Shanghan (Cold Damage), where various medicines have failed.
Take a bundle of green onions, tie them with a rope into a cake-like shape, remove roots and leaves, keeping only the white parts approximately two cun long. First, heat one side over fire until thoroughly hot, but not scalding. Place the heated side on the patient's lower abdomen (below the umbilicus), and use an ironing device filled with fire to press over it, allowing the heat from the onion cake to penetrate into the abdomen. Prepare three or four such cakes; replace a cake when it becomes damaged or ineffective. Wait until the patient regains consciousness, hands and feet become warm, and sweating occurs, indicating recovery. Subsequently, administer Sini Tang (Four Reversal Decoction) to warm the Middle Jiao. Previously, there was a case of Shanghan where the patient was unconscious, limbs were hard and cold as stone, and medicines could not be taken; this method resulted in immediate recovery. Another method involves mixing bran with strong vinegar, stir-frying until hot, placing it in a cloth bag, and steaming/ironing; this is superior to the above method.
Treats Shanghan caused by excessive Yin overcoming and repelling Yang, where the patient exhibits restlessness and heat sensation but no desire to drink water.
Take one Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root, *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata*), burn it to ash while preserving its medicinal properties, grind into powder, and take as a single dose, mixed with honey water for administration. This expels and disperses cold pathogenic factors, allowing warm Qi to ascend, leading to sweating and recovery.
An efficacious formula for resolving and treating Lianggan (Double Exposure/Simultaneous Taiyang and Shaoyin involvement). Heavenly pathogenic qi, when invading, harms the Five Zang organs. Thus, it is known that simultaneous external and internal invasion results in disease of both Fu and Zang organs. If one attempts to release the exterior, the interior condition obstructs; if one attempts to purge the interior, the exterior condition remains. Since the exterior and interior cannot be treated simultaneously, it is said that Lianggan is incurable. However, constitution varies between deficiency and excess, and pathogenic depth varies. Those who are deficient and deeply affected will surely die; those who are solid and lightly affected may still be treatable. Although some cases treated fail to recover, none survive without treatment. I have used this formula occasionally with survival rates of two or three out of ten. Therefore, this formula is established for benevolent physicians to use.

Chop the above herbs. For each dose, weigh half liang, add two large zhen of water, decoct until one and a half zhen remains. Strain the dregs, obtain one large zhen of clear liquid, and drink it hot. If symptoms do not resolve, take another dose. Three or four doses to resolve the exterior are acceptable. Stop when the illness is cured. If there are residual symptoms, follow Zhongjing's methods of treating according to the meridians.
