Coptidis Rhizoma (Chuanlian, 黄连) [free of impurities] and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [raw, coarsely chopped], each one tael.
The above ingredients are coarsely chopped, decocted in three cups of water until reduced to two cups, the dregs are removed, and the liquid is taken occasionally.
Take half a tael of salt from the above prescription, stir evenly with cold water, allow it to settle, and take it slowly.
Take Psilomelanos (Zhiyanshi, 紫石英) from the above prescription, grind into a fine powder, take one qianbi per dose, mix with warm water for administration, and continue for three doses.
To treat poisoning caused by metallic and mineral drugs.
Take one jin of lead (Qian, 铅) from the above prescription, melt it into liquid in a clay pot, pour in one sheng of wine, repeat this process more than ten times, wait until the wine reduces to half a sheng, remove the lead, and take it at once. This is effective. Another method is to grind the lead with well water and drink the juice; this can resolve arsenic poisoning.
For the above conditions, administer Di Jiang (Earth Slurry, 地浆) orally; this is very effective.
For the above conditions, use Shi Xie (Stone Crab, 石蟹), grind with cooked water, and take orally.
For the above conditions, drink fresh Qicai Juice (Shepherd's Purse Juice, 荠菜汁); this is good.
For the above conditions, eat Bang Rou (Clam Meat, 蚌肉); this is good.
For the above conditions, eat Luobo (Radish, 萝卜). In the past, a Brahmin monk coming from the East saw someone eating wheat noodles and said, "This is very hot in nature, why eat it?" He then saw radishes in the food and said, "Fortunately, there is this to neutralize its nature." Since then, it has been passed down that one must eat radishes when consuming noodles.
Qicai (Shepherd's Purse, 荠菜) and Gancao (Licorice Root, 甘草) [raw], each two taels.
The above ingredients are finely chopped, decocted together in five cups of water until reduced to two cups, allowed to cool, filtered to remove dregs, and divided into three doses. Another method can resolve all kinds of drug poison; add a little honey and decoct together for administration.
For the above conditions, decoct Zisu (Perilla Leaf, 紫苏) strongly to make a thick juice, add Xingren Paste (Apricot Seed Paste, 杏仁泥), and take it; the toxicity will dissipate.
For the above conditions, decoct raw Luobo (Radish, 萝卜) to make soup. If radishes are not available out of season, decocting Luobo Zi (Radish Seed, 萝卜子) to make soup is also acceptable. Someone who liked to eat Tofu became poisoned by it, and medical treatment was ineffective. By chance, a new doctor arrived halfway and happened to see a tofu-making couple arguing. The doctor asked, "This morning when making tofu, the wife mistakenly put radish soup into the tofu pot, so the tofu failed. It seems tofu fears radish." The doctor obtained this explanation, went to the patient's house, and used radish decoction for all soups administered, either mixed or swallowed, and the patient recovered.
For the above conditions, use Qu Mo (Medicated Leaven Powder, 曲末), add a small amount of Muxiang Powder (Aucklandia Powder, 木香末), mix with salt water for administration. When alcohol aroma appears in the mouth, food stagnation is resolved; this is excellent for treating alcohol accumulation.
To treat poisoning caused by improper diet.
Dig up the red earth directly under the bottom of the stove where the cauldron sits, grind it into a fine powder, mix with cold water, and take an appropriate amount according to the condition. Alternatively, grind Xijiao (Rhinoceros Horn, 犀角) with water to obtain juice and drink it; this also treats poisoning from eating meat of six domestic animals, with great effect.
