If the pain is severe, apply a paste made by crushing Wu Mei Rou (Fructus Mume) and fish [material] to the affected area; this is miraculous. (From *Li Lou Qi Fang*)
When both soles of the feet are convexly swollen, with black bean-like lesions appearing on the surface, the sores are hard as nails, the tibia is fragmented, and marrow flows from the pores, accompanied by chills and a craving for alcohol, this indicates a conflict between cold and heat in the Liver and Kidney meridians. Apply Pao Chuan Wu Tou (Prepared Rhizoma Aconiti Kusnezoffii) externally, and internally administer Jiu Zi Tang (Leek Seed Decoction) for effective results. (From *Xia Ziyi Qi Ji Fang*)
An elderly woman had a tumor growing in her right axilla, gradually reaching over one chi in length, resembling a long gourd, which eventually ulcerated. A Daoist practitioner used the bottom of a long-handled teapot kettle, calcined until carbonized but retaining medicinal properties (Cun Xing), ground it into powder, and applied it topically. After the exudate was completely drained, she recovered. (From *Li Binhu Ji Jian Fang*)
Maggots occasionally emerged from within the scalp. The skin was incised with a knife, squeezed, and juice from Si Gua Ye (Folium Luffae) was applied. This expelled all maggots and eradicated their roots. (From *Xiao Shan Guai Zheng Fang*)
Take equal parts of Po Piao (Broken Gourd Calabash), Bai Ji Guan Hua (Flos Celosiae Cristatae Albae), and Bai Luo Si Ke (Concha Meretricis Albae), calcined until carbonized. Mix with Xue Jie (Resina Draconis) and She Xiang (Moschus), each five fen, ground into powder. Moisten with good wine, mix with Shu Ai Rong (Prepared Mugwort Floss) to form a cake, and apply it to the Bai Hui acupoint (GV20) on the vertex. Heat the area with an iron until cured. (From *Sun Shi Ji Xiao Fang*)
The nose frequently discharges foul-smelling yellow fluid, accompanied by cephalalgia; this condition is named Kong Nao Sha (Brain-Controlled Sand). It is caused by insects feeding on the brain. Take three to five chi of Si Gua Teng (Caulis Luffae) near the root, calcine until carbonized, take one qian per dose, and swallow with warm wine until cured. (From *Yi Xue Zheng Zhuan*)
Take equal parts of Si Gua Ye (Folium Luffae), Lian Xu Cong Bai (Scallion White with Roots), and Jiu Cai (Herba Allii Tuberosi). Grind them thoroughly in a mortar to extract the juice. Mix with hot wine for oral administration, and apply the dregs topically to the axilla. If the disease is on the left hand, apply to the left axilla; if on the right hand, apply to the right axilla. If on the left foot, apply to the left groin; if on the right foot, apply to the right groin. If in the center, apply to the heart and umbilicus region. Bind securely with cloth. Wait until the red lines under the skin turn completely white, indicating the dissipation of pathogenic factors. If tidal fever is present, use this method as well. However, hold the patient firmly to prevent trembling or falling, which would be difficult to rescue. (From *Wei Fang*)
Take five sheng of Xiao Mai (Frumentum Tritici), add nine sheng of water, and boil down to four sheng. Filter the liquid through cotton wool. When the decoction is extremely cold, have the patient lie on a mat and gargle/swallow the liquid to gradually reduce the prolapsed intestines. Do not let the patient know what is happening regarding their back, nor allow multiple people to watch or speak nearby, as this will prevent intestinal reduction. Instead, lift the four corners of the mat and gently shake it to facilitate the natural reduction of the intestines. For ten days, consume only mild delicacies and avoid startling the patient, otherwise death may ensue. (From *Liu Juanzi Gui Yi Fang*)
