[Immortal Prescription for Hemiplegia]
Prescription 1: Take Shengdi Huang (Raw Rehmanniae Radix), Shudi Huang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix), Gouqi Zi (Lycii Fructus), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix), Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Yiyiren (Coicis Semen), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), and Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos) each in the amount of two liang; Wujia Pi (Eucommiae Cortex) and Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) each one liang; Chuannwu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix) and Cao Wu (Aconiti Radix) each five qian; Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) and Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) each five qian; Songjie (Pinus Massoniana Stem Joint) four liang. Add sixteen jin of good wine to the above ingredients, decoct until three incense sticks have burned down, then bury the vessel in the earth to dissipate the "fire qi" (heat). Take orally three times a day: morning, noon, and evening.
Prescription 2: Take Wulingzhi (Trogopterori Faeces) four liang and Caowu (Aconiti Radix) one liang. Process the Caowu by fire-roasting, remove the rough skin, and grind both together into a fine powder. Take Sanliang (three liang) of Hetaoren (Juglandis Semen), remove the oil, mix with the powder, and bind with vinegar paste to form pills the size of a cockle seed. Take orally at night with white wine. The patient should sweat slightly and avoid wind exposure. Initial dose: one qian; second dose: one qian five fen; third dose: two qian five fen; fourth dose: three qian. Stop increasing the dose after reaching three qian. If further treatment is needed, restart the dosage escalation as described.
Prescription 3: Take Wujia Pi (Eucommiae Cortex) three qian, Hu jiao (Piperis Longi Fructus) seven grains, Shushi (Rattus excrement; use three grains if pointed at the tip, four if round), and Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) three slices. Decoct in one jin of high-proof liquor until three incense sticks have burned down. Drink thoroughly while warm, shortly after a full meal, aiming for slight sweating. For mild cases, one dose suffices; for severe cases, take two or three doses.
Prescription 4: Take Xixin (Asari Radix) and Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) in equal parts, grind into a fine powder. For heat-type pain, mix with water; for wind-type pain, mix with wine. Apply the mixture to the painful area using a brush for immediate effect.
Prescription 5: Take Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma) and Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) each three qian, grind into a fine powder. Slice one Niu Naozi (Bovine Brain), place it in a clay vessel with the powder, add white wine, and steam until cooked. Consume hot with the wine until intoxicated. Upon waking, the condition will feel as if it never existed.
Prescription 6: Take Xiangyou (Sesame Oil) one cup and Jiangjiang (Fresh Ginger Juice) half a cup. Administer orally. Once phlegm is expelled, recovery is immediate.
Prescription 7: Take Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix) four liang, decoct in one jin of good wine until reduced to half a jin, then take orally.
Prescription 8: Take Huaihua Zi (Sophorae Flavescentis Flos), Hetaoren (Juglandis Semen), Xi Chaye (Fine Tea Leaves), and Zhima (Sesamum Indicum Seed). Use five qian or one liang of each ingredient. Place in a clay pot with six or seven bowls of water, boil until the volume is halved. Take orally while hot for miraculous efficacy.
Prescription 9: Take Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Qin Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) in equal parts. Grind into a fine powder. Take five fen per dose, mixed with wine.
Prescription 10: Take Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix) three liang, stuff it inside a duck's abdomen, and steam over boiling water. Remove the Niuxi, eat the duck meat. Take daily as a regular dietary therapy.
