Banxia, Chenpi, Fuling (each 2.5 qian), Shengjiang (1 qian), decocted in water and taken orally.
After a prolonged course of disease, body fluids are damaged, leading to dryness of the Stomach and dry retching, with an inability to retain soups or water. In this case, Erchen Tang (Two-Aged Decoction) combined with Siwu Tang (Four-Substance Decoction) should be used, adding Zhuli (Bamboo Sap) and Jiangzhi (Ginger Juice), employing moistening and descending methods to treat it.
In this syndrome, the pulse on the right side must be wiry and rapid, while the pulse on the left side must be weak and faint. Ignorant physicians mistakenly believe that Banxia harms the fetus and Dihuang clogs the chest; this shows they know the routine but fail to understand variations.
If vomiting is severe, the pulse is weak, the body is fatigued, and there is an inability to digest grains, Liujunzi Tang (Six-Gentlemen Decoction) should be used, adding Maidong and Shengjiang.
If the left pulse is wiry and urgent, accompanied by distension and fullness below the heart, and incessant nausea, this is due to Liver Qi rushing upward. It is appropriate to use Fuling Tang to administer Yiqing Wan (Suppress Blue Pill).
[Yiqing Wan Formula] Huanglian (1 liang) is ground into powder and formed into pills the size of hemp seeds. Each dose consists of 20–30 pills taken with warm water.
If the left pulse is weak accompanied by vomiting, blood-regulating and Spleen-nourishing medicines should be administered. This is because vomiting arises from Yin deficiency.
If there is distension in the hypochondrium or alternating chills and fever, with a greenish-yellow complexion, this indicates Wood overacting on Earth (Liver attacking Spleen/Stomach). It is appropriate to use Liujunzi Tang added with Chaihu, Jiegeng, and Zhiqiao. If accompanied by lower back pain and threatened miscarriage, it is appropriate to use Erchen Tang combined with Siwu Tang, added with Baizhu, Huangqi, Huangqin, and Ejiao.
If there is distension and fullness, add Suansharen.
If vomiting is accompanied by mental restlessness, use Zhuru, Maidong, Qianhu, Juhong, and Lugen, decocted in water and taken slowly.
If vomiting persists due to consuming cold foods and cooling medicines, use Dingxiang and Paoshengjiang, combined with Banxia Tang to warm the interior. As the symptoms of pregnancy toxemia gradually recede, slowly administer the subsequent tonic formulas.
[Danggui Formula for Regulation] Danggui (3.5 qian), Chuanxiong (1.7 qian), Fuling, Renshen, Shengdi, Xiangfuzi (each 2 qian), Baizhu (1.5 qian), Huangqin (0.7 qian), Maidong (1.5 qian), with Shengjiang and Dazao as guides.
Although vomiting has ceased, if the mouth tastes sour after eating each bowl of porridge, this indicates excessive Liver Fire. It is appropriate to use Chuanxiong, Chenpi, Zhizi (stir-fried), Fuling, and Shengjiang, decocted in water to take with Yiqing Wan.
After vomiting has stopped, strong tonification is necessary. It is appropriate to use Renshen, Baizhu, Danggui, Huangqi, Chenpi, and Fuling, decocted and taken orally. If there are signs of heat, add Tiaohuangqin; if there is lower back pain, add Duzhong and Chuanduan. Take one dose daily.
Dizziness, vertigo, and fatigue.
