五香连翘汤方(见二十卷第二论)。
Treats breast abscess (whether perforated or not) in women, discharging pus, significantly relieves pain, and promotes wound healing.
Crush lotus flower (Flos Nelumbinis) into a paste. If flowers are unavailable, use only the bark from the root. First, scrape off the rough outer skin with a bamboo knife, retaining only the inner tender white layer of bark, crush it into a paste, then add a small amount of honey to mix. Depending on the size of the lesion: if unperforated, leave a central hole; if perforated, plug the hole with the medication so that the pus root naturally drains completely. Change frequently without fatigue. This prescription is highly effective for all types of carbuncles and back boils, showing miraculous results immediately. Once the pus has drained completely, apply the following external powder.
Another formula for closing wounds: Gan Nong San (Dry Pus Powder).
Sepiae Endoconcha (Hai Zhe Gu), Zhu Sha (Yellow Dan), Tian Zhu Huang (each 2 qian), Fen Qing (Qing Fen, 2 bi), Moschus (She Xiang, 1 zi), Lao Jiang Zhen Gu (3 qian).
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Sprinkle dry onto the wound surface; it will dry within a few days.
Another formula: Jiang Zhen Jie (2 qian), Tian Zhu Huang, Feng Fang (Lu Feng Fang, each 1 qian), Moschus (She Xiang), Fen Qing (Qing Fen) (each a small amount).
Grind into powder and sprinkle dry onto the wound.
Another formula: Ru Xiang (Frankincense), Mo Yao (Myrrh), Zhu Sha (each 1 qian), Long Gu (Dragon Bone, 2 qian), Zhen Pi Zi (3 qian), Xue Jie (Dragon's Blood, half qian), Moschus (She Xiang, 1 zi), Jiang Zhen Jie (1 qian).
Grind into a fine powder and sprinkle dry onto the wound.
Formula for treating breast abscess.
Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex, 1 fen).
Grind into a fine powder, mix with egg white (Ji Zi Bai) to apply topically. Replace when dry; cure will be immediate.
Another formula: Crush Ramie root (Zhu Gen) and apply externally for cure.
Bi Xiao Fang treats female breast abscess: Dan Shen Gao (Salvia Ointment).
Dan Shen (Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae), Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) (each 2 liang).
Chop the herbs, soak in vinegar (Ku Jiu) overnight. Add half a jin of lard (Zhu Zhi), simmer over low heat until Bai Zhi turns yellow. Strain the residue to obtain the ointment, then apply externally.
Treats unbearable breast swelling and pain. (Effective formula by ancestor Guo Qi)
Take one handful of freshly harvested water willow root (Shui Liu Yang Gen), crush it, decoct with good wine, Licorice Root (Gan Cao), and Chinese Plum (Wu Mei) until reduced to seventy percent volume. Strain and take warm frequently.
Treats female breast carbuncle and lactation labor: Shen Xiao Gua Lou San (Miraculous Trichosanthes Powder). (Formula created by Li Sili)
Gua Lou (Fructus Trichosanthis, one fruit, peel removed, dried and ground into powder. For urgent use, simply crush and grind; those with more seeds have stronger efficacy), Sheng Gan Cao (Raw Licorice Root, half liang), Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, washed with wine, remove radicle, dried, half liang), Ru Xiang (Frankincense, 1 qian), Tong Ming Mo Yao (Transparent Myrrh, 1 fen; these two should be ground separately).
Add three sheng of pure wine (Wu Hui Jiu) to a silver or earthenware vessel, simmer slowly over low heat until reduced to one sheng. Divide the clear liquid into three doses, taken long after meals. If suffering from lactation labor, take this medicine immediately to eradicate the root cause. If the pathogenic toxin has formed an abscess, it will transform pus into yellow fluid for discharge; if the toxin has not yet formed an abscess, it promotes detoxification through urination and defecation. In severe cases, prepare and administer again; reducing symptoms is the goal. There are many formulas for treating female breast abscesses, but this single formula is uniquely miraculous and infallible. (In the year Guihai, I attended Lady Zhao, wife of Military Commissioner Ting of Wuyang, aged seventy. Two years prior, a lump the size of a goose egg appeared on her left breast, which suddenly became painful. She summoned me to prescribe medication. I said: According to Sun Simiao, women over fifty should not develop breast abscesses; if they do, they are incurable. Fortunately, it has not ruptured; it may be a qi tumor. I casually prescribed Wu Xiang Lian Qiao Tang without Da Huang, decocted and administered. If symptoms slightly decreased after administration, that would suffice. After six or seven years, whenever swelling recurs, re-administer this formula, and it will surely subside.)
