Discourse states: Lin syndrome (strangury) arises from Kidney deficiency and Bladder heat. When the Kidney is deficient and unable to control water metabolism, it results in frequent urination. Bladder heat causes urinary flow to be obstructed,涩滞 (astringent/stagnant), and frequent yet incomplete. In pregnant women, the Bao Luo (uterus) is connected to the Kidney; if empty-heat accumulates in the Kidney region leading to Lin syndrome, severe cases manifest as mental restlessness and agitation, hence termed "Zi Lin" (pregnancy strangury).
