Process the above nineteen ingredients, weighing each at 1 liang and grinding into powder. Take one live turtle (Bie), weighing 10 liang or half a jin, raise it in river water for seven days, changing the water daily; use 5 sheng of urine from a young boy and 5 sheng of wine without ash residue. Slow-boil in a silver or earthenware vessel for one hundred boils. First, add 3 he of peach and willow branches (from the southeast direction) and 50 crushed Wumei (Mume Fructus). Wrap these three ingredients in silk, and decoct together with the turtle until the liquid reduces by half. Remove the wrapped ingredients. Boil the turtle until tender, remove it, grind the meat into a paste, bake the bones and shell until dry, grind them into powder, and add them back to the liquid. Decoct until the color resembles lacquer, adding a little more wine if necessary, adjusting according to circumstances. Store in a porcelain jar, mix with the previous powders, place in a mortar, pound a thousand times, and form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Men and women over fifteen years old take 20 to 30 pills, washed down with warm wine; women take them with Jingjie wine. The amount of paste prepared must be calculated accurately to avoid excess; a slight shortage is acceptable, and extra wine can be boiled separately. If there is leftover paste, it may indicate the turtle was not fully cooked. Whenever taking this medicine, if one feels excessive heat, take Baxian Yinzi (Eight Immortals Drink) after three days to resolve it.
