Ingredients: Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, stir-fried), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, stir-fried), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, stir-fried), Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium, each 1 qian), E Jiao (Colla Corii Asini, stir-fried 2 qian).
Combine the above ingredients as one dose, decoct with water, and take orally.
Dang Gui Chuan Xiong Tang (Angelica and Ligusticum Decoction) (see "Ancient Formulas in Furen Gui") is used to treat blood stasis after spontaneous abortion, causing pain in the heart and abdomen, or accompanied by fever and aversion to cold.
Ingredients: Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata), Bai Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, stir-fried), Yan Hu Suo (Corydalis Rhizoma, stir-fried), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Tao Ren (Persicae Semen), Hong Hua (Carthami Flos), Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma), Qing Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride, stir-fried), Ze Lan (Lycopus Japonicus Herba), Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex).
Decoct the above ingredients with water, add Tong Bian (Child's Urine) and Jiu (Alcohol), half a small cup of each. If pressing the abdomen with hand increases pain, this indicates blood stasis; it is appropriate to use this medicine or Shi Xiao San (Sudden Smile Powder). If pressing the abdomen results in no pain, this indicates Blood deficiency; it is appropriate to use Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) or Shen Ling Bai Zhu San (Ginseng, Poria, and Atractylodes Macrocephala Powder). If pain is accompanied by vomiting, this indicates Stomach Qi deficiency; it is appropriate to use Liu Jun Zi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction). If diarrhea occurs, this indicates Spleen Qi deficiency; it is appropriate to use Liu Jun Zi Tang administered with Er Shen Wan (Two Divine Pills).
Dian Bao Jian (Palace-Womb Decoction) (see "New Formulas Eight Arrays · Yin Array") is used to treat post-abdominal pain after spontaneous abortion and postpartum Er Zhen Tong (Uterine Contraction Pain), with miraculous effects.

Use one zhong of water, decoct until reduced to eight-tenths, and take hot. If the pulse is fine and weak with cold signs or vomiting, add Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, stir-fried to yellow color) 1-2 qian. If there is excessive blood heat and fire, remove Rou Gui and add Jiu Chao Shao Yao (Wine-stir-fried Paeoniae Radix Alba) 1-2 qian. If the pulse is weak indicating Yin deficiency, add Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata) 3-5 qian. If there is Qi stagnation, add Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma) 1-2 qian, or Wu Yao (Linderae Radix) is also acceptable. For lower back pain, add Du Zhong (Eucommiae Cortex) 1-2 qian.
Inducing abortion and sterilization are not deeds that benevolent people would willingly undertake. However, if a woman faces difficult and dangerous labor, or her illness is too severe to bear childbirth, then methods for inducing abortion and sterilization become necessary and cannot be discarded. Substances such as Mercury, Meng Chong (Biting Midges), Shui Zhi (Leeches), and Ban Mao (Blister Beetles) not only harm the fetus but also injure the mother; users must not act rashly.
Formulas for Inducing Abortion:
Qian Jin Qu Tai Fang (Thousand Gold Formula for Expelling the Fetus) (see "Ancient Formulas in Furen Gui")
Da Fu Qu (Large Bran Fermented Dough, 5 sheng)
Soak in one dou of wine, boil two or three times, filter out the dregs, divide into five doses. Do not eat for one night, take again at dawn. The fetus will detach like rotting matter, and the mother will suffer no distress. This formula from Qian Jin does not transmit its full details.
Xia Tai Duan Ju Fang (Short Drama Formula for Lowering the Fetus) (see section on Threatened Miscarriage)
Fu Lei Duan Ju Fang (Support Emaciation Short Drama Formula) (see "Ancient Formulas in Furen Gui") Suitable for emaciated individuals wishing to induce abortion.
Ingredients: Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng), Fen Cao (Licorice Root), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Tao Ren (Persicae Semen), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Xie Zhua (Crab Claws).
Equal parts of the above ingredients. Take one liang per dose, decoct with two zhongs of water until reduced to eight-tenths, take on an empty stomach. If the fetus has not moved, take another dose.
Guang Ji Xia Tai Fang (Guangji Formula for Lowering the Fetus) (see "Ancient Formulas in Furen Gui") Effective for both living and dead fetuses.
Ingredients: Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix, 4 liang), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Niu Xi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix), Dou Chi (Fermented Soybean, each 3 liang).
Cut the ingredients, decoct with seven bowls of water until reduced to two and a half bowls, divide into three doses. Take one dose, then after about one hour, take another dose.
"Li Fang" Gui Xin San (Cinnamon Heart Powder from Good Prescriptions) (see section on Threatened Miscarriage)
One prescription: Regardless of whether the fetus is living or dead, use two seeds of Bi Ma Ren (Ricini Semen), one Ba Dou (Crotonis Fructus), and one fen of She Xiang (Moschus). Grind and apply to the umbilicus and soles of the feet; the fetus will be expelled. Alternatively, take one pill monthly, swallowed with warm wine. Another method: To expel a living fetus, use one Bi Ma Zi (Ricinus Seed).
Formulas for Sterilization:
Duan Chan Duan Ju Fang (Sterilization Short Drama Formula) (see "Ancient Formulas in Furen Gui") Verified effective for sterilization and abortion.
Ingredient: Gu Can Tui Zhi (Old Silkworm Molt Paper, one square chi)
Burn into powder, mix with wine and take on an empty stomach; pregnancy will not occur for life.
"Qian Jin" Duan Chan Fang (Thousand Gold Sterilization Formula) (see "Ancient Formulas in Furen Gui")
Ingredients: Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction, one dose), Yun Tai Zi (Brassicae Napus Seed, a handful, i.e., Rapeseed), Hong Hua (Carthami Flos).
Decoct with half a zhong of water until reduced to eight-tenths, take on an empty stomach after menstruation ends; pregnancy will not occur.
Dan Xi Duan Zi Fa (Danxi Method for Preventing Offspring) (see "Ancient Formulas in Furen Gui")
Use one sheng of Bai Mian Qu (White Flour Fermented Dough) and five sheng of Wu Hui Jiu (Clear Wine without Ash). Make into a paste, boil until reduced to three and a half sheng, filter out dregs, divide into three doses. On the day before menstruation arrives, take one dose at the fifth watch of the night and one dose at dawn. Menstruation will cease, and there will be no offspring for life.
Moxibustion Method for Sterilization (see "Ancient Formulas in Furen Gui") A transmitted prescription. For those wishing to terminate fertility, moxa three zhuang at the Yin artery point located 2.3 cun below the umbilicus. This measurement should be approximated by dividing the distance from the umbilicus to the pubic symphysis into five equal parts.
