小儿常服之药。(朱君辅方)
Tang Shi stated: This is caused by Spleen deficiency with cold invasion, leading to the failure of digestion and transformation of water and grain, resulting in watery diarrhea. Qian Yi (courtesy name Zhongyang) stated: When infants cannot take milk or food, discharge brown watery stools, and have a cold body, it indicates a lack of Yang Qi. The treatment should focus on strengthening the Spleen, primarily using Yihuang San (Eulogy Powder). Although ancient and modern approaches differ, these formulas should be applied according to modification methods to ensure safety and efficacy. For cold accumulation diarrhea, Meishizi Wan (Myrobalan Pill) is extremely effective; Renshen San (Ginseng Powder) and Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction) taken with modifications are particularly good. Adding Rou Dou Kou (Nutmeg) can stop diarrhea. Laifu Dan (Reviving Life Pill) and Buhuanjin Zhengqi San (Unchanging Gold Harmonizing Qi Powder) are all suitable. Guanyin San (Guanyin Powder) and Yinbai San (Silver-White Powder) used with modifications for regulation are mild and harmonious formulas.
Yihuang San See Question Eight.
Meishizi Wan Treats infants and young children who initially suffer from cold diarrhea or present symptoms of dysentery with red and white discharge. After a long time, it transforms into various abnormal colors, manifesting in more than one way. External symptoms include a complexion that is either green or pale, dry and cracked lips and tongue, slightly cold hands and feet, generalized feverish heat, stabbing pain in the abdomen causing crying, and restless sleep. If such symptoms are present, Meishizi Wan should be administered.
Meishi Zi (1 qian) Muxiang Huanglian Danggui (each 1 liang) Qingpi (1 qian)
Grind the above five ingredients into powder. Soak Awei (1 fen) in half a cup of wine until dissolved, add a small amount of flour, mix thoroughly, and boil into a paste to form pills the size of millet grains. Children aged one to two years take these; for children aged four to six years, make them the size of pepper seeds. Each dose consists of 50 pills. For red dysentery, administer with Gancao Tang (Licorice Decoction); for white dysentery, administer with Jiangtang (Dried Ginger Decoction). Another prescription uses one Meishi Zi, five Baidoukou (White Cardamom), two Hezi Rou (Chebula Endocarp), and one qian each of Muxiang and Huanglian, ground into powder. Form pills the size of hemp seeds using rice porridge paste. Each dose is 15 pills, taken with rice drink.

Yinbai San See Question Sixteen.
Huoxiang San Treats dysfunction of the Zang-Fu organs in children, presenting as diarrhea with green, yellow, black, or white stools, indigestion of milk and food, and feces containing mucus resembling egg white. It also treats sudden watery diarrhea accompanied by abdominal pain, slight fever, and a sallow or pale complexion resembling slow convulsions, or testicular swelling and redness with inward pulling pain. Administer three to five doses mixed with Zisu Tang (Perilla Decoction).
Chenpi Huoxiang Houpo (processed) Zhike (stir-fried) Gancao (honey-fried, each half liang)
Grind the above ingredients into powder. Take 3 qian mixed with Zisu Tang. If there are yellow and white mucus strands in the stool, administer with decoction of Mugua (Chaenomeles) and Su Mei (Smoked Plum) without salt. If dysentery stops, administer with date decoction. This formula greatly harmonizes the Stomach and promotes milk and food intake; it is a common medicine for children to take regularly. (Prescription of Zhu Junfu)
