The wind wheel (cornea) appears yellowish like gold, and vision is blurred and unclear. This is due to damp-heat steaming into the pupil, where clear yang qi is frequently oppressed by turbid qi. If a young adult does not heed the doctor's advice...
This condition specifically discusses the yellowing and brightening of the wind wheel (cornea), resembling the color of gold, accompanied by blurred vision. This occurs because damp-heat is severe, and turbid qi steams upward, forcing clear yang qi to ascend into the wind wheel, thus causing it to turn yellow. Individuals who enjoy drinking alcohol and indulge in hot, dry, fishy, and greasy foods often suffer from this disease, which differs from general visual blurriness. It is suitable to take: Gegua Jiedu Yin (Kudzu Flower Detoxification Decoction). This prescription clears damp-heat, resolves alcohol toxicity, nourishes kidney water, descends heart fire, and improves vision.
Coptidis Rhizoma (Stir-fried), Scrophulariae Radix Nigra, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Gentianae Radix (Stir-fried), Artemisiae Scopariae Herba, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Exigua, Puerariae Flos, Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, Poria, Gardeniae Fructus, Forsythiae Fructum, Plantaginis Semen (Equal parts).
Cut the above herbs into pieces. Use two zhong of clear water, decoct until reduced to eight-tenths, strain off the dregs, and take after meals.
The eyes feel dry, rough, and uncomfortable; vision is dim and feels unwell. This is helplessly due to insufficient kidney water and declining essence. Do not wait until the eyes are dried up and damaged.
This condition refers to the daily sensation of eye dryness and lack of smoothness, along with blurred vision. It results from excessive visual exertion, overthinking, indulgence in alcohol and dry-hot foods, and failure to regulate sexual activity, leading to damage to the Shen Water (tears/ocular fluids). Consequently, the eyes will exhibit these symptoms. If fine red vessels appear or lack of moisture occurs, closing the eyes to rest and nourish light may eventually produce tears that slightly moisten them, making vision clear upon opening. This demonstrates the cause being insufficient water. If one fails to observe strict precautions for care, severe damage to Shen Water may occur, leading to dryness and stiffness pathologies. One must urgently nourish yin and replenish water, while slightly suppressing fire, to cultivate the root. Once the root is established, pure and clear qi harmonizes, and generated fluids become moist. If mistakenly diagnosed as a fire syndrome and treated recklessly with cauterization or needle bleeding, there is a risk of the eye shrinking and becoming small. It is suitable to take: Siwu Wuzi Wan (Four Substances and Five Seeds Pill). It treats eye dimness caused by insufficiency of heart and kidney.
Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Washed with wine), Kochiae Spina, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Cuscutae Semen (Boiled in wine until soft, then baked), Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Rubi Fructus, Lycii Fructus, Plantaginis Semen (Steamed with wine, dosage adjusted according to deficiency or excess, equal parts).
Grind the above medicines into a fine powder. Make pills using refined honey, sized like paulownia seeds. Take fifty pills each time, at any time, washed down with salt water.
Bovis Vesica Bile Decoction. Treats eye dryness and pain.
Porci Vesica Bile, Bovis Vesica Bile, Ovis/Caprae Vesica Bile, Cyprini Carpio Vesica Bile (Each half she), Mel (Two liang), Picrorhizae Rhizoma (Ground into powder), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Ground into powder), Coptidis Rhizoma (Ground into powder), Ursi Vesica Bile (Each two qian and half).
First, mix all the powdered medicines with honey and bile evenly. Place in a porcelain bottle, seal the mouth tightly with fine paper, and steam in a rice steamer until the rice is cooked. Filter through fresh clean cotton cloth. Take an amount the size of a hemp seed using a copper tube and instill into the eyes, two to three times daily.
Another method:
Treats individuals whose eyes become dry and sleepy at night. Take one mouse eye, burn it into powder, mix with water, and frequently instill into the eyes. After a long time, sleepiness will cease. The extracted mouse eye should be stored in a bag and worn on the person constantly, which also prevents insomnia at night.
