Six Characters for Treating Viscera
From after Zi hour (11:00 PM - 1:00 AM) until before Wu hour (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM), sit quietly, tap the teeth, and swallow saliva. Then, according to the method, mentally recite the six characters "He" (呵), "Xu" (嘘), "Hu" (呼), "Si" (呬), "Chui" (吹), and "Xi" (嘻) to eliminate diseases of the Five Zang Organs (Five Zang Organs). The recitation should be silent in the mouth, with no sound heard by the ears. For each character, extend the breath as long as possible without vocalizing. Among the six characters, "Xu" and "Xi" are easily confused: the breath for "Xu" comes from the lips, while the breath for "Xi" comes from the tongue.
When treating the Liver with "Xu", open the eyes wide (when reciting "Xu", keep both eyes wide open).
When treating the Lungs with "Si", hold both hands up as if supporting an object (for "Si", hold hands as if lifting something).
When treating the Heart with "He", cross palms and press against the top of the head (when reciting "He", cross palms and press on the crown).
When treating the Kidneys with "Chui", hug the knees and sit level (for "Chui", hug knees with both hands while sitting).
When treating the Spleen with "Hu", pucker the mouth (when reciting "Hu", purse the lips).
For Heat in the San Jiao (Triple Burner), lying down and reciting "Xi" brings peace (for "Xi", lie supine with body flat).
In Spring, reciting "Xu" brightens the eyes and supports the Liver Wood.
In Summer, reciting "He" calms the Heart Fire.
In Autumn, reciting "Si" stabilizes and moistens the Lung Metal.
In Winter, reciting "Chui" strengthens Kidney Water and pacifies the Kan Palace.
During the Late Summer period, reciting "Xi" eliminates Heat.
Throughout the Four Seasons, reciting "Hu" strengthens the Spleen Earth and aids digestion.
Avoid making sound audible to the ears;
Its efficacy truly surpasses divine elixirs for preserving spirit.
"Xu" belongs to the Liver and externally governs the Eyes; redness, nebula, blurred vision, and tears like crying occur.
This is due to Liver Fire attacking upward; reciting "Xu" treats it with the fastest effect.
"He" belongs to the Heart and externally governs the Tongue; dry mouth and vexing heat arise.
Recite "He" according to the depth of the illness; throat, tongue, and mouth ulcers will disappear.
"Si" belongs to the Lungs and externally governs the Skin and Hair; wind-cold causes coughing with sticky phlegm.
With nasal discharge and chills/fever, using "Si" makes treatment effortless.
"Chui" belongs to the Kidneys and externally governs the Ears; soreness/pain in waist and knees, and impotence occur.
Gently exhale while reciting "Chui"; no need to seek prescriptions or pharmacology.
"Hu" belongs to the Spleen and internally governs the Central Earth; chest distension and drum-like abdomen arise.
With limb stagnation and frequent diarrhea, reciting "Hu" restores normalcy.
"Xi" belongs to the San Jiao (Triple Burner) and treats obstruction; unblocking the San Jiao removes accumulated Heat.
Simply recite "Xi" six times; this efficacy is easy to achieve through regular practice.
The above six characters are practiced based on specific illnesses; stop when cured. If a specific area is diseased, practice the corresponding character; do not practice all, lest you damage healthy viscera.
If practiced according to the method, it indeed yields miraculous effects, which is why medical texts and Daoist scriptures record them.
