Difficulty in movement. This leads to difficult labor at term. It is certain that delivery will be difficult. This medicine can be taken in the eighth month of pregnancy, administered twice daily, to tonify blood and smooth qi, facilitating easier delivery and expulsion of the placenta. It also treats abdominal pain due to blood stasis after miscarriage, and retention of the placenta.
Baosheng Wuyou San (Preserve Life and Ensure Safety Powder)
Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong), Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba) (each 0.7 fen), Ruxiang (Resina Frankincense) (0.1 fen), Zhike (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus) (1.2 qian, stir-fried), Muxiang (Radix Aucklandiae), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae) (each 0.5 fen), Xueyu (Sanguis Huminis) (0.4 fen).
Crush these ingredients for one dose. Decoct with water and take warm.
Another indication: For obesity of the fetus causing obstruction and difficulty in movement, take it one month before term. It shrinks the fetus and facilitates delivery.
Shoutai San (Thin Fetus Powder)
Zhike (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus) (5 qian), Xiangfuzi (Fructus Cyperi Rotundi) (3 qian), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae) (1.5 qian).
Pulverize these ingredients. Take 2 qian each time, mixed with boiling water.
Another discussion: Taking a few doses between the eighth and ninth months of pregnancy is very beneficial, making delivery easier and reducing abdominal pain.
Dasheng San (Achieve Birth Powder)
Dangguishen (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, wine-washed), Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae, de-oiled and de-rhizomed, stir-fried, each 1 qian), Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba, wine-stir-fried), Renshen (Radix Ginseng), Chenpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), Zisu (Folium Perillae), Dafupi (Fructus Arecae Cum Cortece, washed, each 1 qian), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, honey-stir-fried, 0.3 fen). Alternatively, add Renkou (Fructus Amomi Rotundus) 0.5 fen.
Zhike (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus, bran-stir-fried, 0.8 fen) is especially good.
Crush these ingredients for one dose. Add five stalks of Congbai (Bulbus Allii Cepae) and decoct with water. If the fetus is obese with panting, add seven Huangyangnao (Cortex Euodiae Fructus? Note: Text says "Huangyang Shu Shao Er", likely referring to a specific part of the plant, often interpreted as Cortex or Fruit of Euodia or similar aromatic herb, here translated literally as Huangyang Brain/Nut from the tree tip). This substance can thin the fetus.
Double the dosage of Danggui and add Dihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata). For those with an irritable and angry temperament, add Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri). For heat, add Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae). For poor appetite, add Renkou (Fructus Amomi Rotundus) and Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata). For thirst, add Maidong (Radix Ophiopogonis). For excessive hunger, add Huangyangnao. For phlegm, add Banxia (Rhizoma Pinelliae Praeparatum cum Zingibere et Alumine, soaked in ginger juice, sliced, stir-fried with sesame oil). For fetal restlessness, add Muxiang (Radix Aucklandiae).
Another discussion: For women pregnant for seven to eight months, taking this medicine consolidates the fetal qi, facilitating easy delivery. Most cases of difficult labor in the world are caused by internal heat scorching the amniotic fluid, leading to dryness and difficulty at term. Or, spleen qi deficiency fails to transform and transport essence, resulting in insufficient uterine fluids, which also causes difficult labor. Therefore, Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae) and Fuling (Poria) are used to benefit spleen qi and nourish the "mother of all things" (Spleen). Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae) is used to clear heat in the fetus and drain fire to preserve uterine fluids. Chenpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae) is used for its acrid and dispersing properties to move middle jiao qi, resolve rich and sweet foods, prevent stagnation of fetal qi, and keep the fetus from becoming too large. This is the meaning of "binding the fetus".
Shutai Wan (Bind Fetus Pill)
Fuling (Poria) (7.5 qian), Chenpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae) (3 liang), Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae) (1 liang in summer, 0.7 liang in spring/autumn, 0.5 liang in winter), Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae) (2 liang).
Pulverize these ingredients. Make pills with wine paste, size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 50 pills each time, with rice soup.

Crush these ingredients. Decoct with water and take warm.

Crush for one dose. Add 1.5 cups of water, decoct to 1 cup. Take warm on an empty stomach. If white dysentery with severe abdominal pain suggests cold, remove Huanglian and add Ganjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis, stir-fried, 0.2 fen).

Another discussion on "ghost pregnancy" (pseudocyesis), feeling like holding a jar. The classics say: Women in the palace, such as widows without husbands, may have frequent nocturnal dreams and interact with evil qi, or conceive a pseudo-fetus, forming a mass disease (Jia).
