A newborn infant. Just leaving the maternal body. The mouth contains foul toxins. The crying sound has not yet emerged. Urgently use soft cotton to wrap a finger. Wipe away the foul fluid in the mouth. If this is not done in time. Pre-decoct a concentrated liquid of Gancao (Licorice Root) and Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) and administer it by force-feeding. Wait until the foul foam is vomited out. Then allow breastfeeding. Alternatively, use high-quality Zhusha (Cinnabar). Process it by water-floating method. Mix with refined Baimit (White Honey) to form a paste. Size like a small bean. Dissolve in breast milk for administration. Within three days, administer only three pills to eliminate fetal toxins and prevent complications from smallpox and chickenpox.
For an infant aged three to five days after birth. It is suitable to bind the body and let them lie supine. Do not hold them upright by the head. To avoid inducing Jingxian (Convulsions and Epilepsy).

Tao Gen (Peach Root), Liu Gen (Willow Root), Mei Gen (Plum Root), Huai Gen (Locust Tree Root), Sang Gen (Mulberry Root). Add Kushen (Sophora Root) and Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica) to decoct together.

For a newborn infant. After bathing and cutting the umbilical cord. Do not cut with a knife. Wrap the umbilicus with soft silk. Or bite through it while wearing a single-layer garment. The covering of the umbilicus should not be too long. Nor too short. It should only be as long as the sole of the infant's foot. If too long, it attracts external wind. Leading to Umbilical Wind. If too short, it injures the internal Zang-Fu organs causing pain. The face turns cyanotic, crying and calling. There are foul insects in the umbilical cord. They should be promptly removed. Otherwise, they enter the abdomen causing disease.
