[Qiqi Wan / Seven-Qi Pill]
Treats diseases caused by Seven Qi (Qi). The seven qi pathogenic factors are Cold Qi, Anger Qi, Joy Qi, Worry Qi, Resentment Qi (Huiqi), Sorrow Qi, and Heat Qi. When these seven qi cause disease, they generate accumulations that become hard and firm within the abdomen, causing heartache, vexation, and resentment, inability to eat, intermittent symptoms with regular attacks, and severe pain upon each attack. Specifically: Cold Qi causes vomiting and epigastric fullness; Heat Qi causes mental confusion and dizziness, often accompanied by vertigo, syncope, and seminal emission; Anger Qi causes uncontrollable heat rushing to the heart, shortness of breath nearly leading to death, and dyspnea; Resentment Qi causes subcardiac accumulation and inability to eat or drink; Excessive Joy Qi prevents rapid walking or prolonged standing; Worry Qi prevents strenuous labor and causes restless sleep; Sorrow Qi causes irritability, forgetfulness of object placement, swelling of limbs and extremities, and inability to lift them. This formula also treats residual conditions after wind-stroke occurring early after childbirth.
