Milk-like sores (Ru E, tonsillar hypertrophy) in throat diseases appear in what form? There are unilateral, bilateral, and even pearl-string-like continuous sores (Lian Zhu E). Initially, pain precedes swelling; after three days, fine white star-like spots may be observed. Treatment involves blowing a small amount of Yujin Dan (Jade Golden Powder) into the lesion, accompanied by decoction to enhance efficacy. For left-sided sores, add Xijiao (Rhinoceros Horn); for right-sided sores, add Zishaoyao (Purple Peony Root); for bilateral sores, this method is excellent and worthy of praise.
Throat carbuncle (Hou Yong) resembles milk-like sores but lacks white star spots. It often arises from excessive consumption of strong alcohol and rich, greasy foods. The swelling and pain lack distinct boundaries and stem from Lung Fire. Primary treatment uses Yudan (Jade Pill) with added gold foil, followed by lozenges and decoctions. Once heat subsides and phlegm dissipates, the body naturally calms. Additionally, if a hanging polyp (Xuan Yong) forms on the soft palate, puncturing it with an awl and applying Ganyao (Gum Disease Medicine) ensures stability.
Throat lichen (Hou Xuan) originates from deficiency-fire generation. Red filamentous patterns resemble begonia flower veins. Eating causes pain at spots on these patterns. Regulation requires yin-nourishing therapy over approximately one month. Decoctions must include Dabeimu (Fritillaria Bulb), while Yudan and pastes are used concurrently. If the patient indulges in sexual activity and violates dietary/lifestyle restrictions repeatedly, lung destruction becomes incurable, leading inevitably to aphonia.
Throat fungus (Hou Jun) arises from depression. It is slightly elevated and thick, resembling floating duckweed. What medicine should be blown for this condition? One part gold powder mixed with five parts jade powder. Subsequently, use three parts jade powder and one part gold powder. Decoctions and pastes should not be discontinued. Adhering to restrictions and diligent treatment may achieve remission within a month.
Rebirth of a small tongue under the real tongue (HT She, Double Tongue) causes worry. Its name is HT She; careful examination reveals its nature. If pain spreads to the throat causing swelling, HT She combined with throat carbuncle is more concerning. Immediately blow Jindan (Golden Pill) under the tongue; administer Yujin to the throat. Take decoctions of Dihuang (Rehmannia Root), Xijiao (Rhinoceros Horn), and Lian (Coptis Rhizome). Although the condition is severe, knowing the protocol makes it curable.
Internal restlessness with wind-wrapping throat (Chan Hou Feng): rapid breathing, irritability, throat obstruction, tight red filaments inside the throat, neck itching/numbness like twisting, voice like sawing, pale fingernails, cold neck/head and extremities. Primary treatment: contain Yujin Niuhuang (Jade-Gold-Cow Bezoar). Must combine with decoction. If this persists beyond one day and night, fixed gaze and profuse sweating indicate a dire prognosis. Extinguishing a lamp near the mouth suddenly suggests imminent death; thunderous voice marks the end.
Neck carbuncle (Xiang Yong) presents with red swelling on the chest. External symptoms suggest internal invasion. Severe cases cause throat blockage; Yudan and decoctions yield miraculous results. External application: Sanhuang San (Three-Yellow Powder). Throat swelling worries about internal suppuration. Facial carbuncles share similar symptoms; treating cheek abscess fever follows the same principle.
Fire stagnation in the Heart Meridian causes lingual carbuncle (She Yong). Swelling and redness at the tongue tip and corners. Increase decoction dosage of Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) and Xijiao (Rhinoceros Horn). Evenly blowing Yujin proves effective.
Throat thorn (Hou Ci) occurs post-consumptive disease (Lao Zai). Dense red spots indicate severity. Cold-pathogen qi obstruction is named Hou Bi (Throat Closure). Simultaneous occurrence renders medical intervention futile.
Wooden tongue (Mu She) management: inability to move the tongue, worsening chills and fever. Beware of a white date-shaped lesion, with green-purple-red entanglement under the tongue. Initial stage has no swelling, mild chills/fever. Difficult to cure without proper formula. Fortunately, Jindan offers miraculous utility, ensuring recovery and health.
Tongue fungus (She Jun) resembles the tongue or wood ear mushroom, belonging to the Heart Meridian. Causes diffuse pain, red-purple color. Evenly blowing Yujin leads to gradual resolution. Similarly named Purple Tongue Distension (Zi She Zhang), characterized by internal vexation. Scrape impurities with a bamboo knife, apply Dan Sha (Cinnabar) and Yu Jin (Turmeric Tuber). Adjust Xijiao (Rhinoceros Horn) decoction dosages.
Yellow tongue with swelling/pain and yellowish hue: still use Yujin Fang. White flakes on pediatric tongues are named Xue Kou (Snow Mouth). Dip cotton swab in warm water, wipe frequently, and blow Ganyao. Two pills of Xijiao detoxify. Black discoloration indicates fatal outcome.
Pearl-string oral gum disease (Lian Zhu Kou Gan) forms under the tongue, small blisters increasing gradually. Puncture with a small knife, then treat with oral gum disease medicine. Lingering sand syndrome (Beng Sha Zheng) under the tongue features extreme heat, swollen red gums. After blowing gum medicine, beware of tooth loss and gingival rot.
Malignant condition named Zou Ma Gan (Running Horse Gangrene): white blisters on gum roots perforate easily. Fluid spread causes widespread damage; rapid putrefaction is hard to treat.
Bleeding from tooth gaps is Ya Xuan (Gum Recession/Disease). Upper relates to Spleen, lower to Stomach. Putrefaction and blood splatter stem from dual fires. Prioritize Spleen-supporting and Stomach-clearing agents. Stop bleeding with Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder). Flesh regeneration heals ulcers. Heavy phlegm indicates severe illness; treat promptly.
Tooth socket wind (Ya Cao Feng Qi) starts with toothache, purple-black gums, fleshy swelling. Long-term leads to open ulcers with odor. Beware of dental fistula with pus/blood discharge. Both conditions are difficult to cure; increase Pearl powder and Niuhuang (Cow Bezoar). Internal administration: Yin-nourishing fire-descending agent. Loss of incisors is significant. Small masses at gum roots are Ya Yong (Dental Abscess). Unpredictable location. Hard nodules upon opening/closing mouth. Early treatment restores harmony.
Tooth-locking abscess (Ya Yao Yong) forms entirely in gums. Jaw locks tightly, worse at night. First blow Yujin on gums. Yellow-heat opening allows Jin (Gold) to work. Tooth HT (Ya HT) has no fixed location, resembling ivory abscess. After Jindan, blow Ganyao. Increase Bingpian (Borneol) for unblocking.
Penetrating tooth fistula (Chuan Ya Lou) is malignant. Tooth pain precedes other symptoms by two days. Chills/fever, purple masses on gums. Mix Jindan with Yu Jin for blowing. Follow with cooling-blood toxin-resolving agent. Breaking white penetration clarifies toxicity. Add Niuhuang to Ganyao; blow Ercha (Terminalia Chebula Fruit) and Pearl as divine.
Throat gum disease (Hou Gan) stems from Kidney Fire soaring. Blue-white/red patches form in throat. No cough, clear voice, no piercing sensation. Frequent blowing without changing formula yields spirit. Decoction: Jiegeng (Platycodon Root), He Ye (Lotus Leaf), Gancao (Licorice Root), Zhizi (Gardenia Fruit), Dihuang (Rehmannia Root), Danshen (Salvia Root), Zhimu (Anemarrhena Rhizome), Yuan Shen (Scrophularia Root), Nvzhenzi (Privet Fruit), Biejia (Turtle Shell), Zhi Guiban (Calcined Tortoise Plastron). Several doses lighten symptoms.
Aphonic paralysis wind-phlegm obstructs throat. Jaw locked, speech ceased. Open-orifice and emetic wind-phlegm medicines: Jingfang Baidu San (Schizonepeta and Saposhnikovia Decoction Against Pathogenic Factors) shows merit. Face changes color, eyes tear up; even Bian Que and Lu Yi would despair.
Abnormal Lotus Syndrome forms under the tongue. Swelling contains hidden fire scorching Kidney Meridian. Quickly take Ziyin Yijin San (Nourish-Yin Benefit-Lung Powder). One month’s effort brings peace. Ingredients: Bohe (Mint), Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber), Jiegeng (Platycodon Root), Danpi (Moutan Bark), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Lianqiao (Forsythia Fruit), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Shaoyao (Peony Root), Fen (Powder), Chenpi (Tangerine Peel), Gufu (Phellodendron Bark), Qiaojia (likely a typo or specific preparation), Ling (Poria), Wuweizi (Schisandra Berry). Ten items total. Decoct and swallow together for peace.
