The *Yangsheng Fang* (Prescriptions for Nourishing Life) states: One should not lie exposed to the open air after becoming drunk, as this will cause sores to erupt on the face.
It also states: After drinking alcohol, if one washes the face with cold water before the internal heat has dissipated, it will cause sores to erupt on the face; those with milder conditions will experience... [text appears incomplete or refers to mild symptoms].
The *Yangsheng Fang* states: Sitting without walking after a full meal, and then engaging in labor, is not only of no benefit but can lead to diseases of accumulation that fail to dissipate, as well as numbness in the hands and feet and a sallow complexion.
The *Yangsheng Fang Daoyin Fa* (Guiding and Pulling Methods from Prescriptions for Nourishing Life) states: In a squatting position, extend the right leg straight, embrace the left knee with both hands, straighten the waist, and inhale through the nose until the limit for seven breaths. This eliminates difficulty in bending and extending, rising and bowing, removes pain in the shins, bi-syndrome (numbness and pain), and wind-induced blindness and deafness.
It also states: In a squatting position, extend the left leg straight, embrace the right knee with both hands, straighten the waist, and inhale through the nose until the limit for seven breaths, extending the left foot outward to the side. This eliminates difficulty in bending and extending, rising and bowing, and removes pain in the shins. Another version states: It eliminates wind-induced dim vision and deafness.
It also states: Inhale through the nose while holding the nose with the left hand to eliminate dim vision and tearing; inhale through the nose, close the mouth, and reach the limit for seven breaths to eliminate stagnant blood and qi under the flanks.
It also states: Sit upright with the waist straightened, slowly inhale through the nose, and hold the nose with the right hand to eliminate dim vision. If tears flow, close the eyes and exhale; for nasal polyps or deafness, apply the same method. To eliminate headache and aversion to cold caused by Shanghan (Cold Damage), sweating should be taken as the limit.
The *Yangsheng Fang* states: Indulgence in pleasure damages Hun (Ethereal Soul); Po (Corporeal Soul) connects to the eyes, and when the Liver is damaged, vision becomes dim. Methods such as herbal decoctions, hot compresses, acupuncture, and stone therapy have separate specific formulas. The methods of nourishment and guiding/pulling are attached below.
The *Yangsheng Fang Daoyin Fa* states: In a squatting position, lift the toes of both feet with both hands until the limit, allowing the Qi of the Five Zang Organs to circulate throughout the body. This primarily treats inability to hear human speech and unclear vision. Long-term practice can turn white hair black again.
It also states: Stop after five movements of the toes, pulling the Bi-syndrome and hemiplegia of the waist and back, enabling the ears to hear sounds. Long-term practice of the eye and ear faculties removes all obstructions.
It also states: Extend the left lower leg, bend the right knee inward and press, stop after five breaths. This pulls the Lung to remove Wind-Deficiency, making the eyes bright. Practicing according to the classics, pulling the Qi of the Lung removes Wind-Deficiency disease, making the eyes bright, allowing one to see colors at night just as during the day.
It also states: At cockcrow, rub both hands together until warm, and use them to iron/press the eyes three times. Press the areas around the eyes where divine light resides with fingers to make the eyes bright and free from pain.
It also states: Sit facing east without breathing cessation (or perhaps "sit still"), then use the middle fingers of both hands dipped in saliva twice (fourteen times), rub them together and wipe the eyes to make them bright. Rinse with sweet spring water and wash the eyes to remove cataracts and dirt, making the eyes clear. The former uses internal Qi to cleanse the body internally, making the eyeballs pure; this uses external washing to remove dust and obstacles.
It also states: Perform supine pulling three times, massage the pulse points on the sides of the neck with fingernails five times to make the eyes bright; lie flat on the back, tilt the head backward for pulling three times, and massage the major pulse points on the sides of the neck with fingernails five times to eliminate ailments of dim vision. Long-term practice allows seeing colors at night; if continued indefinitely, one may perceive all ten directions without limit.
