*Ge Shi Zhou Hou* treats dysentery (diarrhea with pus and blood) that has persisted for a long time; this is the prescription for treating Xie Xi Li (intermittent dysentery, a lingering and relapsing form of dysentery).
Take Long Gu (Fossilized Bones), roast until yellow and scorched, grind into powder, and administer one Fang Cun Bi (approx. 2-3 grams) per dose, three times daily. It will be cured.
Another prescription from *Ge Shi Zhou Hou*:
Take four liang of the aforementioned Long Gu (Fossilized Bones), grind it to the size of small beans. Boil in five sheng of water until reduced to two and a half sheng, let it cool, and divide into five doses. Effective.
Song Bei Bing Zi (Pine-Baked Biscuits) from *Bao Sheng Xin Xiao* treats various masses, accumulations, qi stagnation, and blood stasis persisting for ten or twenty years.
Xi Mo (Fine Ink, half liang, roasted) Yuan Hua (Genkwa Flower, soaked in vinegar, roasted until scorched red) Qing Meng Shi Da Ji Dry Qi (Dry Lacquer, stir-fried) Wu Ling Zhi Jing San Leng Peng E Zhu Mi Tuo Seng Chen Pi (Aged Tangerine Peel, pith removed) Mu Li (Oyster Shell, calcined. Each half liang) Ba Dou (Croton Seed, one liang, skin removed, wrapped in three layers of wet paper, burned until the paper is scorched) Da Gan Zao (Large Dried Jujube, fourteen pieces, pits removed, burned to retain properties) Bai Ding Xiang Sha (Sand, ground) Meng Chong (Trogopterus Dung, wings and feet removed) Ban Mao (Mylabris, treated similarly. Each one fen)
All ingredients are ground into a fine powder. Use vinegar-boiled wheat paste as a binder to form pills the size of soap seeds, shaped into biscuits. Record the food item that caused the injury, decoct it to make a soup, or use wheat soup to deliver one pill. The patient must chew and swallow it. The accumulation will gradually move downward. Take another dose when you feel the movement again; after taking one more pill, the accumulation will naturally discharge. For ordinary cases requiring bowel movement, simply use wheat soup to deliver the pill. It treats blood accumulations, masses, amenorrhea, and also adult and pediatric chronic purulent bloody dysentery and intermittent severe dysentery.
Yu Ming Dan (Jade Life Pill), transmitted by Doctor Ding Shifa from Changsha, treats children suffering from chronic red and white dysentery, persistent intermittent dysentery, abdominal borborygmus (rumbling due to deficiency), progressive emaciation, loss of eyebrows, geophagia (eating dirt), and poor appetite.
Liu Huang (Sulfur, ground) Mi Tuo Seng Yellow Dan (Yellow Lead Oxide, each half liang) Han Shui Shi Cold Water Stone Bai Fan Alum (each ground to two liang, placed on new tile shards with five flavors of herbs, sealed with salt mud, heated until red-hot, then ground finely) She Xiang Musk (one zi weight)
The above six ingredients are ground uniformly. Use steamed biscuit dough as a binder to form pills the size of small mung beans. Administer ten pills per dose, delivered with a decoction of Wu Mei (Dark Plum) and Gan Cao (Licorice Root). Adjust dosage according to age. Avoid raw/cold foods, toxic substances, and Mian (specific forbidden food).
