*Shenghui Fang*: The so-called "Gan Syndrome of Dryness" (Gan Syndrome of Dryness, a pediatric condition characterized by malnutrition and dryness due to internal heat) in children is caused by irregular breastfeeding and dieting, leading to the accumulation of heat in the Heart and Spleen. Its manifestations include high fever, or alternatively aversion to cold, a stiff tongue with dry mouth, excessive sleepiness accompanied by night sweats, dry and rough skin, erect and scorched hair, significant muscle wasting despite abundant food intake, weakness in the four limbs, and lethargy. Day after day and month after month, the condition worsens, resulting in emaciation and desolation; hence it is termed "Gan Syndrome of Dryness."
*Xianren Shuijian*: When a child suffers from Gan Qi (Gan Qi, general term for childhood malnutrition syndrome) that persists for a long time without healing, thereby giving rise to secondary complications, it is appropriate to administer this formula specifically for treating Gan Syndrome of Dryness.
Tianlinggai (Calvaria Bovis, dried skull cap of cattle), Sheng Biejia (Bielong Gu, dried shell of soft-shelled turtle), Boshi Qingdai (Persian Indigo Naturalis), Huangyan (Yellow Salt).
