《巢氏病源》伤寒发痘疮后减瘢候∶伤寒病发疮者，皆是热毒所为，其病折则疮愈，而毒瓦斯尚未全散。故疮
痂虽落，其瘢犹 ，或凹凸肉起，所以宜用消毒减瘢之药以敷之。
谭氏小儿方疗小儿面上疮痘子瘢。
上用黄明胶，慢火炙为末。温酒调服一钱匕，出者服之无瘢，未出服之泻下。
谭氏小儿方疗痘疮瘢 。
上以密陀僧细研。水调，夜涂之，明旦洗去，平复矣。
《圣惠》治小儿热毒发疹痘疮初愈，宜涂疮瘢方
蒺藜子 豉（各一两） 栀子仁（二两）
上件药捣，细罗为散。用醋浆水调如泥，每夜涂疮上，来日以淡浆水洗之。
《圣惠》又方
胡粉（一两） 腻粉（一分）
上件药相和，研令匀。入炼了猪脂拌和如膏，薄薄涂瘢上。每夜涂之，至明以浆水洗之。
《圣惠》又方
鹰粪白（一两） 衣中白鱼（二十枚）
上件药细研，入白蜜调和如稀汤。用涂疮瘢上。
《圣惠》又方
牡蛎（ 为粉，三两） 土瓜根（一两）
上件药捣，细罗为散。每夜取二钱，用白蜜调涂面及疮瘢，明旦以暖浆水洗之。
《圣惠》治小儿伤寒热毒斑疮、疹痘疮瘥后减瘢膏方。
马齿苋（自然汁，一升） 炼成猪脂（三两）
上件药相和，以慢火煎成膏，日夜涂疮瘢上。
《圣惠》又方
羊 （一具，用酒一升，浸一宿，来日搅滤去汁。取羊 尽去筋膜） 牛酥（四两）
上二味入银铫子内，慢火煎三五沸，新绵滤入净器中盛。每夜取涂面上，来日用生甘草一两，以浆水二大
盏，煎七八沸，去滓，放温，洗面。
《圣惠》又方
猪 （一斤） 天鼠（二枚）
上二味细切，入铫子内，煎炼令天鼠焦，绞滤取膏。日夜摩涂疮瘢上。
《圣惠》又方
上用颅 粪二两，研如粉。以炼了腊月猪脂三合，调搅令匀，涂于疮瘢上。
《圣惠》又方
上用川升麻，不计多少，细锉，用水煎，去滓取汁。以绵沾汁洗拭疮瘢上。
《圣惠》又方
豉（一升） 羊粪（一合）
上件药相和，以水一斗，煎十余沸，去滓。看冷暖，洗浴疮瘢。
《圣惠》又方
上用黄柏细锉二两，以水二升，煎取一升，去滓。摩拭疮瘢上。
《圣惠》又方
上用赤小豆末一两，以鸡子白调如稀饧，涂疮瘢上。
《圣惠》又方
上用上好白蜜，不计多少，通身涂疮，痂落无瘢。
《圣惠》治小儿疹痘疮，并减瘢痕方。
上用羊 骨髓一两，炼之，入轻粉一分，研成白膏。于瓷合内盛，用涂疮上，减瘢极效。
张涣青金散方 治痘疮、麸疹、疮瘢不省。
白蒺藜 山栀子（并为细末） 青黛（研细。各半两） 腻粉（研一分）
上件一处都细研为末。每用少许，生油调涂疮上。
《良方》疗病豌豆疮，欲无瘢。
上频揭去痂，勿令隐肌，乃不成瘢。纵揭伤有微血，但以面膏涂，即无苦也。疮家不可食鸡鸭卵，实时盲。
瞳子如卵白，其应如神，不可不戒也。
According to *Chao Shi Bing Yuan* (Source of Diseases by Chao Yuanfang) regarding the reduction of scars after chickenpox/smallpox following cold damage: The occurrence of sores and pustules in cold damage diseases is caused by heat-toxin. When the disease subsides, the sores heal, but the toxic qi has not yet fully dissipated. Therefore, even if the scabs have fallen off, the remaining scars may still be uneven or raised with flesh. It is thus appropriate to use medicinal preparations that dispel toxins and reduce scars for external application.
Tan's Pediatric Formula for treating facial scars from smallpox/chickenpox in children.
Take Huangming Jiao (Yellow Clear Gelatin), roast it slowly over low fire until powdered. Mix one Qianbi (ancient unit of measurement, approx. a small spoonful) with warm wine and ingest. If the pustules have erupted, taking this will prevent scarring; if they have not yet erupted, it will promote their discharge.
Tan's Pediatric Formula for treating scars from smallpox/chickenpox.
Grind Mituo Seng (Litharge/Lead Monoxide) finely. Mix with water and apply at night; wash off the next morning, and the skin will become smooth.
*Sheng Hui Fang* (Formulas from the Holy Benefit Bureau) for treating initial healing of rashes and smallpox/chickenpox caused by heat-toxin in children, a formula to reduce scars.
Jili Zi (Tribulus Fruit) and Chi Shao (Fermented Soybean) (each 1 liang); Zhizi Ren (Gardenia Seed) (2 liang).
Pound the above ingredients and sieve them into a fine powder. Mix with vinegar-water to form a paste. Apply to the scars every night, and wash off the next day with weak starch water.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Hu Fen (Basic Lead Carbonate) (1 liang); Ni Fen (Calomel/Mercurous Chloride) (1 fen).
Mix the above ingredients and grind evenly. Combine with refined lard to form a ointment. Apply thinly to the scars every night, and wash off with starch water the next morning.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Ying Fen Bai (White Eagle Droppings) (1 liang); Yi Zhong Bai Yu (Silverfish found in clothes) (20 pieces).
Grind the above ingredients finely and mix with white honey to a consistency like thin soup. Apply to the scars.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Mu Li (Oyster Shell calcined into powder) (3 liang); Tu Gua Gen (Trichosanthes Root) (1 liang).
Pound the above ingredients and sieve into a fine powder. Take 2 qian each night, mix with white honey, and apply to the face and scars. Wash off the next morning with warm starch water.
*Sheng Hui Fang* ointment for reducing scars after the resolution of macular rash and smallpox/chickenpox caused by heat-toxin from cold damage in children.
Ma Chi Xian (Purslane natural juice) (1 sheng); Refined Lard (3 liang).
Mix the above ingredients and simmer over low fire to form an ointment. Apply to the scars day and night.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Yang Zhi (Sheep Fat) (one whole piece, soaked in 1 sheng of wine overnight; stir and filter to remove residue next day; take pure sheep fat removing all fascia); Niu Su (Cow Butter/Ghee) (4 liang).
Place these two ingredients in a silver pot and simmer over low fire for three to five boils. Filter through new cotton into a clean container. Apply to the face every night. The next morning, take 1 liang of raw Gan Cao (Licorice Root), boil in two large bowls of starch water for seven or eight boils, remove dregs, let cool to a suitable temperature, and use to wash the face.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Zhu Zhi (Pork Fat) (1 jin); Tian Shu (Sky Rat droppings/Bat Guano) (2 pieces).
Finely chop these two ingredients and place in a pot. Simmer until the Tian Shu is scorched, then strain to extract the grease. Massage and apply to the scars day and night.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Take 2 liang of feces from the cranial cavity (likely referring to specific animal waste used in ancient contexts, literally "skull dung"), grind into powder. Mix with 3 he of refined lard from the twelfth lunar month, stir evenly, and apply to the scars.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Take Chuan Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), quantity unspecified, finely cut, decoct in water, remove dregs to obtain the juice. Dip cotton in the juice and wipe the scars.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Chi Shao (Fermented Soybean) (1 sheng); Yang Fen (Sheep Droppings) (1 he).
Mix the above ingredients, add 1 dou of water, boil for more than ten times, remove dregs. Use the liquid at a comfortable temperature to bathe the scarred areas.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Take 2 liang of finely cut Huang Bo (Phellodendron Bark), decoct in 2 sheng of water to obtain 1 sheng, remove dregs. Rub onto the scars.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Take 1 liang of fine powder from Chi Xiao Dou (Adzuki Bean), mix with egg white to a consistency like thin syrup, and apply to the scars.
Another formula from *Sheng Hui Fang*.
Take high-quality Bai Mi (White Honey), quantity unspecified, apply to the entire body where sores exist. Once the scabs fall off, no scars will remain.
*Sheng Hui Fang* for treating pediatric rashes and smallpox/chickenpox, and reducing scars.
Take 1 liang of Yang Sui (Sheep Bone Marrow), refine it, add 1 fen of Qing Fen (Calomel), and grind into a white ointment. Store in a porcelain box and apply to the sores; it is extremely effective in reducing scars.
Zhang Huan's Qing Jin San (Blue Gold Powder) for treating persistent smallpox/chickenpox, bran-like rash, and scars.
Bai Ji Li (Tribulus Fructus) and Shan Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus) (both ground into fine powder); Qing Dai (Indigo Naturalis) (finely ground, half liang each); Ni Fen (Calomel) (ground, 1 fen).
Grind all ingredients together into a fine powder. Take a small amount each time, mix with raw oil, and apply to the sores.
*Liang Fang* (Good Prescriptions) for treating variola (smallpox) without leaving scars.
Frequently remove the scabs, ensuring they do not cover the underlying skin, so that scars do not form. Even if slight bleeding occurs during removal, applying Mian Gao (Facial Ointment) will cause no distress. Patients with sores must not consume chicken or duck eggs, as this will immediately cause blindness. The pupils becoming cloudy like egg white is a sign that comes true like a spirit; one must not disregard this warning.
