(Attached to Spleen and Stomach)
Zhang Huan: Infants drinking milk do not know hunger or satiety themselves; it entirely depends on the wet nurse to exercise moderation. If one sees the child crying, it is assumed that the wet nurse is feeding the child at that moment. If the child has not stopped crying and their breathing is not yet regulated, forcing the child to drink milk hurriedly will cause the child's Qi to rebel, preventing the milk from descending and instead leading to vomiting. In severe cases, it may result in vomiting and diarrhea, forming a disease of Stomach deficiency.
Qian Yi discusses disharmony of Stomach Qi, characterized by a pale complexion, lack of luster, cold breath from the mouth, loss of appetite, and regurgitation of clear fluid. The Spleen should be tonified, with Yihuang San (Yellow Protection Powder) as the primary formula. (Formula seen in this section.)
