In infants, within three to seven days after birth, symptoms such as trismus (lockjaw), refusal to suckle, and excessive crying indicate that external wind pathogenic factors have invaded the umbilicus and flowed along the meridians to the Heart and Spleen channels. This results in tongue stiffness, back spasms, and difficulty sucking. Treatment involves moxibustion on the Chengjiang (CV24) acupoint. The location is in the depression below the lower lip border. Subsequently, moxibustion should be applied to the Jiache (ST6) acupoints bilaterally, seven moxa cones per point, located posterior to the angle of the mandible below the ear.
