Hu Huang Lian San (Bitter Melon Root Powder): Treats pediatric malaria.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Hu Huang Lian (Picrorhizae Rhizoma), Cao Guo (Tsaoko Fructus), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen), Gan Cao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) (each in equal parts).
Crush the above ingredients into a powder. Decoct one cup of water until it reduces to one-third, then administer.

[Zhang Huan] Tao Ren Tang (Peach Kernel Decoction):
Tao Ren (Persicae Semen) (soaked in hot water, remove skin and pointed ends including double kernels, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow), Bie Jia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum) (roasted with rendered fat until slightly yellow, remove skirt-like edges; each 1 liang), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Chi Fu Ling (Poria with Red Heart), Chuan Sheng Ma (Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix) (each 0.5 liang).
Grind the above ingredients into a coarse powder. Take 1 qian per dose, decoct with a small cup of water until it reduces to one-fifth, filter the dregs, and take warm. Adjust dosage according to the child's age and size.

Quan Sheng Zhi Mi (Complete Life Guide to Enigmas) Bie Jia Tang (Turtle Shell Decoction):
Bie Jia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum) (soaked in hot water, scraped clean, roasted with vinegar until yellow), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus) (remove bark), Chang Shan (Dichroae Radix), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) (remove seedlings; each 1 liang), Mu Li (Ostreae Concha) (0.5 liang, calcined until red).
Grind the above ingredients into a coarse powder. Take 5 qian per dose, decoct with two cups of water until it reduces to one cup, filter the dregs, and take warm.

[Zhang Huan] Wu Mei Dan (Mume Pill): Treats severe pediatric malaria characterized by alternating chills and fever.
Wu Mei Rou (Semen Mume) (1 liang, dried by stir-frying), Mu Ding Xiang (Eugeniae Flos), Gan Qi (Resina Crotonis), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Ramulus) (each 0.5 liang. The above are crushed and sifted into a coarse powder, applied as insufflation or held in mouth); She Xiang (Moschus) (2.5 qian, finely ground).
Mix the above ingredients evenly, blend with refined honey, and form pills the size of millet seeds. Take 10 pills per dose, swallow with gruel broth. Adjust dosage according to the child's age and size.

Quan Sheng Zhi Mi (Complete Life Guide to Enigmas) Xuan Fu Hua Wan (Inula Pill):
Xuan Fu Hua (Inulae Flos), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Zhi Shi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) (stir-fried with bran), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) (each 5 fen), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (each 6 fen), Fu Ling (Poria), Ye Lang Du (Stellerae Radix), Wu Tou (Aconiti Radix) (processed, remove skin), Fan Shi (Alumen) (calcined for one shichen/2 hours; each 8 fen), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) (remove seedlings), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (wrapped in wet paper, baked), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Ting Li (Lepidii et Descurainiae Semen), Nong Po (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex) (remove rough bark, processed with ginger juice), Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus) (stir-fried), Yuan Hua (Genkwa Flos) (stir-fried), Ju Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) (washed; each 4 fen), Gan Sui (Kansui Radix) (3 fen, stir-fried).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, blend with refined honey, and form pills the size of wutong seeds. Swallow 3 pills with rice drink; if ineffective, increase to 7 pills. For children, use 2 pills the size of millet grains.

Ban Liu Wan (Half-Sulfur Pill):
Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) (washed seven times with hot water, 3 liang), Liu Huang (Sulfur) (2 liang, ground and purified).
Grind the above ingredients into powder, blend with ginger juice and wheat paste to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 30 pills per dose, swallow with rice drink, at any time. For children, use 3-5 pills the size of millet seeds.
