Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Mix with albumen ovi (egg white) and apply topically.
Another formula:
Wujia ye gen (Folium et Radix Acanthopanacis Senticosi) (5 liang), calcined to ash, mixed with water from an iron forging trough for topical application. Boil Zao shu gen (Radix Ziziphi Jujubae) in water for bathing three to five times. Boil Sang gen (Radix Mori) in water for washing.
*Shenghui Fang* records: Infantile erysipelas starting above the knee, originating from both thighs, spreading to the umbilicus and entering the glans penis, is this condition. The treatment formula is as follows:
Sang gen bai pi (Cortex Mori Radicis) (1 jin), chopped, boiled in 7 sheng of water until reduced to 4 sheng, strain the dregs, and bathe in the warm liquid while avoiding wind. Li shu gen (Radix Pruni Salicinae) (0.5 jin), calcined to ash and ground into powder, mixed with flowing water from fields for topical application. Burn thatch grass from the four corners of the house, calcine to ash, grind into powder, mix with albumen ovi (egg white) and apply topically. Chop Sang bai pi (Cortex Mori Radicis) and Li gen (Radix Pruni Salicinae) together, decoct in water for washing.
*Shenghui Fang* discusses: Patches of crimson-red color appearing on the infant's body, gradually spreading, are named Dan Du (Erysipelas/Toxic Erythema), commonly known as "Liu". If caused by heat, the color is red; if caused by wind, the color is white. Both conditions present with swelling and high fever. One may use a Pi Dao (scalpel) to lance and release bad blood. If the toxin has not entered the abdomen, it can be treated.
