Wuxi Pill (Zeng's Formula) Indicated for various types of accumulation stagnation, complicated by fright or wind pathogen. It warms the stomach and regulates the spleen, promotes digestion, treats vomiting with regurgitation of sour and rancid odor, sallow complexion, and emaciation. It is suitable for children regardless of the time elapsed since birth.
Ingredients: Wuxi (i.e., Gleditsiae Sinensis Pericarpium, cut into three-cun long pieces of peel, roasted in ash fire until blue smoke rises, taken out and placed on the ground, covered with a clay pot to retain its nature but avoid charring, used when cool, 7 qian), Shihuang (Sulfur), Baijiang (White Ginger, each 3.5 qian), Chenpi (Tangerine Peel, pith removed), Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix, processed, skin and umbilical scar removed, each 5 qian), Badou (Crotonis Fructus, shell, membrane, and heart removed, oil retained, 77 seeds).
Preparation and Administration: First, grind Sulfur finely. Except for Crotonis Fructus, roast the remaining four ingredients and grind them into powder. Then, thinly slice and finely grind Crotonis Fructus, mixing it with the powders of the previous five ingredients. Pound evenly in a mortar. Wrap in a ball of Japonicae Oryzae Semen (rice) shaped like a large zongzi (sticky rice dumpling). Boil in a small clay bottle filled with water until cooked. Take out when cool, pound thoroughly in a mortar again, strain tightly through fine cloth to extract a thick paste-like liquid, and store in another container. Divide the medicinal powder equally into this paste, pound until soft and fine, and form pills the size of millet grains. For treating various accumulations, administer 15, 5, 21, or up to 33 pills per dose. Use a small cup of juice extracted from cold rice soaked in light ginger decoction to deliver the pills early in the morning (around 5-7 AM) on an empty stomach. After bowel movements occur 3-5 times, stop the purgative effect and tonify using Yunqi San (Harmonizing Qi Powder). To treat accumulation-induced vomiting with sour/rancid odor, administer 3-5 pills per dose, mixed with a little vinegar in light ginger decoction, warm, and taken on an empty stomach.
Shuijing Dan (Crystal Pill, Zeng's Formula) Indicated for fright accumulation, food accumulation, and worm accumulation, presenting with abdominal distension, irritability, crying, aversion to food, decreased appetite, and sallow complexion. It promotes bowel movement and unblocking. This formula is suitable only for stubborn accumulations, severe fright with urgent wind, excessive phlegm-saliva, and extreme heat; it is not a routine daily medication. It is also indicated after acute fright convulsions if wind-phlegm remains, to prevent cognitive impairment.
Ingredients: Nanxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma, cut into small pieces, boiled briefly in water), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, soaked in water to remove slipperiness, each 3 qian), Huashi (Talcum), Qingfen (Calomelas, 50 tie), Jingwuyi (Elaeagnus Fructus, cleaned, 200 slices), Badou (Crotonis Fructus, 50 seeds, shelled, soaked in water seven times, heart and membrane removed, halved, boiled briefly, dried, and crushed).
Preparation and Administration: Roast the first three ingredients and grind into powder. Mix with Calomelas. Crush Elaeagnus Fructus and Crotonis Fructus together in a mortar, then mix with the previous powder. Form pills using a starch paste method similar to Wuxi Pill, sized like hemp seeds. Administer 15-25 or 35 pills per dose. Use a small cup of juice from glutinous rice soup soaked with scallion white, delivered early in the morning on an empty stomach. After 3-5 bowel movements, tonify with Yunqi San. For descending wind-phlegm, take with light ginger decoction on an empty stomach.
Shengbingzi (Holy Cake) from "Jubao Fang" Used to eliminate all types of accumulation, including deficiency-type accumulation and lower wind-phlegm. It removes pathogens steadily without disturbing healthy qi.

Preparation and Administration: Grind all four ingredients uniformly. Add water dropwise to form pills the size of large chess pieces, keeping them slightly soft. Dry in the shade. Administer one cake per dose. Soak in hot water until soft, mix with cold grain water, and take late at night before sleep. Rinse mouth immediately after taking. This formula only removes accumulation stagnation and does not damage qi; dosage can be adjusted as needed. If treating fright accumulation, add Cinnabar and Raw Borneol (Longnao) each 1 qian per batch. Divide one cake into four doses for children, or shape into smaller cakes.
Zhuihun San (Soul-Chasing Powder) [Ji's Formula] Indicated for accumulation caused by fruit injury.
