If infants consume milk and rice too early, or eat meat too early, or if their gastrointestinal tract accumulates sweet and greasy foods that transform into Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworm), they may exhibit symptoms such as frowning, excessive crying, vomiting of clear froth, abdominal pain, abdominal distension with visible subcutaneous veins, purple-black lips and mouth, head shaking, and itching teeth. The *Yujue Ge* states: "Crying in distress with green phlegm indicates roundworm biting the heart; increased saliva due to cold accumulation causes unbearable pain; consuming sweets and seasonal fruits at every meal leads to deepening parasitic disease." Treatment should first employ Shijunzi San (Quince Seed Powder) or Lushui Wan (Aloe Pill) to expel roundworms, followed by warming and tonifying the spleen and stomach.
Shijunzi San (Quince Seed Powder): Treats pediatric malnutrition (*Gan*) complicated by roundworm infection.
Ingredients: Shijunzi (Ten seeds, stir-fried on a tile until fragrant, then powdered); Gancao (Licorice Root, soaked in bile overnight); Bai Wuyi (White Toosendan Fruit, each 1 fen); Kulianzi (Bitter Chinaberry Fruit, five pieces, processed, pitted).
Usage: Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose, decoct in water, and administer orally.
Lushui Wan (Aloe Pill): Treats pediatric malnutrition (*Gan*) complicated by roundworm infection.
Ingredients: Lushui (Aloe); Anshixiang (Benzoin Resin); Hu Huanglian (Indian Barberry Rhizome); Zhike (Aurantium Peel, stir-fried with bran, each 1 qian); Shijunzi (21 seeds, stir-fried); Wuyi (Toosendan Fruit, 1 fen); Dingfen (Basic Bismuth Subcarbonate, 1.5 qian); Shexiang (Musk, a small amount).
Usage: Grind into fine powder, mix with pig bile paste to form pills the size of mung beans. Take 5-7 pills per dose, swallowed with rice water.
[Zhang Huan] Sangen San (Three Roots Powder): Treats roundworm malnutrition where worms are active, causing incessant crying, which is particularly severe around the beginning of each month, resembling possession by spirits.
Ingredients: Guanzhonggen (Cyrtomium Rhizome); Tangligen (Pyrus Betulifolia Root); Cu Shiliugeng (Vinegar-treated Pomegranate Root, each 1 liang); Cici (Chestnut Spines); Gumiang (Old Cotton Floss); Ganqi (Dried Lacquer, each 0.5 liang).
Usage: Calcine the six herbs to ash while preserving their medicinal properties, grind, and sieve into fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose, decoct in 0.8 sheng of water until reduced to 0.4 sheng, strain, and administer warm. No specific timing required.
Chudu Dan (Remove Toxicity Pill): This formula treats persistent roundworm malnutrition that has spread to siblings.
Ingredients: Guijiu (Podophyllum Rhizome, 1 liang, de-haired); Kushen (Sophora Root, sliced); Qingxiangzi (Celosia Seed); Cao Longdan (Gentian Root, each 0.5 liang); Liuhuang (Sulfur); Feijuan (Red Silk); Gan Xiamahua (Dried Toad, 1 fen); Baifan (Alum, 1 fen).
Usage: Calcine all ingredients to ash while preserving their medicinal properties, grind, and sieve into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of hemp seeds. Take 10 pills per dose, administered with crushed Agaricus Sinensis (Chenxiang) decoction. Adjust dosage according to the child's age.
Zhudu Dan (Pig Stomach Pill): Treats pediatric malnutrition characterized by emaciation, night sweats, fatigue, weakness, and presence of worms in stool. Historically proven effective.

Place 2 liang of high-quality Bai Zhi (Angelica Dahurica) inside, steam until very soft, remove Bai Zhi, insert the herbal powder, sew shut, and steam again until mushy. Remove and pound together with the stomach for 200-300 strikes to form a paste. Shape into pills the size of millet grains. Take 10 pills per dose with rice water. No specific timing required. Adjust dosage according to the child's age.
Gu Jing Dan (Valerian Pill): Treats expulsion of thread-like or horse-tail-like worms from various diseases; severe cases may lead to premature death.
Ingredients: Gujingcao (Eriocaulon Flower Head, 3 liang, wrapped in dough, sealed with salt mud, slow-roasted until red-hot, then taken out); Gan Chan (Dried Toad, three pieces, collected on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, fried with butter until yellow); Zaojiao (Gleditsia Sinensis Pod, 3 cun, calcined to ash).

Usage: Chop finely, decoct in two large bowls of water, boil briefly. Bathe the infant in the warm solution, which is highly effective. After bathing, cover the child with a blue garment; the emergence of parasites confirms efficacy.
Xiao'er Hedi (Pediatric Abdominal Contraction Syndrome): Characterized by pale complexion, fluctuating cry pitch, symptoms resembling heart pain, frequent dry mouth, and periodic onset. Physicians unfamiliar with this condition may mistakenly attribute it to spirit possession, failing to recognize that consumption of raw meat led to worm formation. This formula is highly effective.
