Red Stone Lip (Lithargyri Redum, one jin; half used whole, half sifted into powder; sweet in taste, warm in nature) Dried Ginger (Zingiberis Rhizoma, one liang; acrid in taste, hot in nature) Rice (Oryzae Fructus, one sheng; sweet in taste, neutral in nature)

"Astringency" can treat prolapse and incontinence. The astringent property of Red Stone Lip is used to consolidate the intestines and stomach. Acridity disperses pathogens; the acrid property of Dried Ginger is used to disperse interior cold. Sweetness tonifies healthy qi; the sweet property of Rice is used to tonify healthy qi.
Shaoyin disease. From two or three days to four or five days after onset. Abdominal fullness. Dysuria. Persistent diarrhea. Stool containing pus and blood. Taohua Tang (Peach Blossom Decoction) is the primary treatment.
From two or three days to four or five days indicates that cold pathogen has penetrated deeply into the interior. Abdominal pain indicates interior cold. Dysuria indicates failure to separate fluids and food residues.
Persistent diarrhea with pus and blood in stool indicates weakness of the intestines and stomach and insecurity of the lower jiao. Administer Taohua Tang (Peach Blossom Decoction) to consolidate the intestines and stop diarrhea.
Mr. Wu stated. Regarding hematochezia or purulent bloody stools, there are differences between yin/yang and cold/heat patterns. Ancients said, "Bleeding implies no cold." Also, "Blood flows when heated." These are general statements.
Generally speaking. In yang patterns with internal heat, bright red blood overflows. In yin patterns with internal cold, dark purple blood resembling pig liver is discharged.
In Shaoyin disease with diarrhea and purulent bloody stools, acupuncture may be applied.
Stagnation of blood and qi in the lower jiao leads to putrefaction and formation of pus and blood. Acupuncture is used to benefit the lower jiao and promote the circulation of blood and qi.
In Shaoyin disease with vomiting, diarrhea, cold limbs, and severe restlessness bordering on death, Wuzhuyu Tang (Evodia Fruit Decoction) is the primary treatment.
Vomiting, diarrhea, and cold limbs indicate excessive yin-cold. Severe restlessness indicates internal struggle of healthy qi against pathogenic factors. Administer Wuzhuyu Tang (Evodia Fruit Decoction) to assist yang and dispel cold.
In Shaoyin disease with diarrhea, sore throat, chest fullness, and irritability, Zhufu Tang (Pig Skin Decoction) is the primary treatment.
The Shaoyin meridian ascends from the kidney, passes through the liver and diaphragm, enters the lung, and follows the throat. Its branch emerges from the lung, connects with the heart, and pours into the chest. Pathogens transmitted from yang meridians to Shaoyin cause yin deficiency. Exogenous heat causes diarrhea, sore throat, chest fullness, and irritability. Administer Zhufu Tang (Pig Skin Decoction) to harmonize yin and dissipate heat.
