Coptidis Rhizoma (Chuan Lianlian) (6 liang). Evodiae Fructus (Wu Zhu Yu) (1 liang, selected to remove those with closed pores, cleaned, decocted together with Coptidis Rhizoma until dry).
Grind into fine powder. Use rice water to make a paste for pill-making, size of Sophora japonica seeds (wu zi da). Take 40-50 pills per dose. On an empty stomach, swallow with decoction of Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma and Tangerine Peel (Baizhu Chenpi Tang) or Modified Xiao Yao San (Jiawei Xiaoyao San).
Yiqing Wan (Suppress Blue Pill)

On an empty stomach, swallow with boiling water, or before sleep with aged wine.

Remove Evodiae Fructus from Zuojin Wan, use only Coptidis Rhizoma. Boil in wine, bake until dry, grind into powder. Make pills by adding drops of water. Take 40-50 pills per dose. Swallow with boiling water on an empty stomach.
Xianglian Wan (Fragrant Coptis Pill) (from *Ju Fang*)
Treats dysentery with mixed red and white discharge, where white exceeds red.
Process Zuojin Wan as described previously. Remove Evodiae Fructus, add Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang) 1 liang. Make pills with vinegar paste. Take 50 pills per dose. Swallow with rice soup or Amomi Fructus (Sharen) soup as desired.

Take 70-80 pills before meals, swallowed with boiling water. Any heat located in the sole of the foot, rushing straight up the inner thigh and entering the abdomen, is called yin fire. This heat originates below the Yongquan point (KI 1); although there is a sensation of heat, it does not cause thirst. This indicates heat in the Bladder; this formula governs it.
Huqian Wan (Tiger Hidden Pill)

Processed Zingiberis Rhizoma (Paojiang) 0.5 liang. Make pills with strong wine. Take 3 qian in the early morning, swallowed with light salt soup. If flaccidity is accompanied by cold extremities, add half a Prepared Aconiti Lateralis Radix (Shufuzi). The tiger's nature is yin, yet vigorous and active, hence the desire for it to "hide" (lie low). Let the yin-nourishing medicines follow its nature, lying dormant, so they can exert their vigorous strength, thereby shading and benefiting the lower body. The knee and shin are where sinews and bones converge, possessing optimal efficacy. If using metatarsal bones, select according to the anterior, posterior, medial, or lateral aspects of the lesion; do not rigidly insist that the left anterior is superior.
Jiawei Huqian Wan (Modified Tiger Hidden Pill)
Treats flaccidity with dampness and cold extremities.
From Huqian Wan, remove Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhimu). Add Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Astragali Radix (Huangqi), Dioscoreae Rhizoma (Shanyao), and Lycii Fructus (Gouqi) each 2 liang, Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi) 1 liang.
