Gansui Banxia Decoction (from *Jingui Yaolue*): Treats patients with a submerged pulse (*Fu Mai*). Although there is spontaneous diarrhea, the patient feels relatively comfortable and experiences thirst. Despite the diarrhea, the epigastrium remains persistently hard and full. This indicates that retained fluid (*Liuyin*) is attempting to exit the body.
Ingredients:
* *Gansui* (Radix Kansui) - select larger roots, three pieces
* *Banxia* (Rhizoma Pinelliae Preparatum) - twelve pieces, soaked in ginger decoction, remove phlegm/saliva
* *Shaoyao* (Radix Paeoniae Alba) - half a piece
* *Gancao* (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata) - one piece, approximately finger-sized, honey-fried
Decoct the above four ingredients in water, strain, and mix with half a cup of honey before administration. Note: *Gansui* and *Gancao* are considered incompatible according to the "Eighteen Incompatible Medicaments" principle. Their simultaneous use in this formula constitutes a harsh agent for purging phlegm and driving out fluid retention. Only masters of medicine dare to prescribe it.
Mufangji Tang (from *Jingui Yaolue*): Treats *Zhiyin* (fluid retention in the chest/diaphragm) presenting with hardness and fullness in the epigastrium, a deep pulse, and dark complexion, which has not resolved after emetic or purgative therapies.
Ingredients:
* *Mufangji* (Herba Stephaniae Tetrandrae) - 3 qian
* *Shigao* (Gypsum Fibrosum) - one piece the size of an egg
* *Guizhi* (Ramulus Cinnamomi) - 2 qian
* *Renshen* (Radix Ginseng) - 4 qian
Decoct in water, divide into two doses, and take warm.
Mufangji Qu Shigao Jia Fuling Mangxiao Tang (from *Jingui Yaolue*):
Modify Mufangji Tang by reducing *Mufangji* by 1 qian, removing *Shigao*, and adding *Fuling* (Poria) and *Mangxiao* (Natrii Sulfas) each at 4 qian. Decoct in water, strain, add *Mangxiao*, and simmer slightly. Divide into two warm doses. If mild diarrhea occurs, the condition will resolve.
Tingli Dazao Xiefei Tang (from *Jingui Yaolue*): Treats *Zhiyin* causing wheezing and inability to lie flat, as well as Lung Abscess (*Fei Yong*) causing wheezing and inability to sleep.
Ingredients:
* *Tingli* (Semen Lepidii/Descurainiae) - stir-fried until yellow, pounded into pills the size of a bullet
* *Dazao* (Fructus Jujubae) - twelve pieces, torn open
Decoct the above two ingredients in three sheng of water until one sheng remains. Divide into two warm doses. Vomiting of pus and blood may occur after administration.
Jingleihuang Wan (from *Jingui Yaolue*; also known as Jaomou Wan in *Qianjin Fang*): Treats abdominal fullness and dry mouth caused by water qi stagnation in the intestines and stomach.
Ingredients:

* *Jaomou* (Semen Phaseoli)
* *Tingli* (Semen Lepidii/Descurainiae)
* *Dahuang* (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei)
(Each 1 liang)
Pulverize the four ingredients and form honey pills the size of wu-tzu seeds. Take ten pills before meals with water, three times daily; gradually increase the dose. The appearance of saliva in the mouth indicates improvement. If thirst persists, add 0.5 liang of *Mangxiao*.
Beishu Wan (from *Jufang*): Treats five types of retained fluids lodging in the body, characterized by borborygmus (rumbling sounds) in the abdomen.
Ingredients:
* *Baizhu* (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) - mixed with ginger juice and sun-dried, 2 liang
* *Ganjiang* (Rhizoma Zingiberis Preparatum) - processed
* *Rougui* (Cortex Cinnamomi) - avoid direct fire, 1 liang each
Form pills using Shenqu paste. Take 50-70 pills before meals with light ginger soup.
Qingmengshi Wan: Treats chronic phlegm from internal and external sources, causing chest and diaphragm stuffiness, and obstruction of meridians leading to paralysis of limbs.
Ingredients:
* *Qingmengshi* (Lapis Aurichalcum) - calcined with Niter, 5 qian
* *Banxia* (Rhizoma Pinelliae Preparatum) - 1 liang
* *Fenghua Xiao* (Natrii Sulfas Exsiccatus) - 3 qian
* *Baizhu* (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) - raw, 1 liang
* *Juhong* (Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae Rubrum) - 5 qian
* *Fuling* (Poria) - 8 qian
* *Huangqin* (Radix Scutellariae) - 4 qian

* *Chuan Dahuang* (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei) - steamed with wine, 8 liang
* *Huangqin* (Radix Scutellariae) - fried with wine, 8 liang
Pulverize and form pills with water, sized like mung beans. Take 1-2 qian after meals with boiling water. (Original formula: Qingmengshi 1 liang, Chenxiang 5 qian; Zhang Jingyue doubled these amounts.)
Chenxiang Huatan Wan: Treats phlegm in the chest and chronic heat-phlegm fire accumulation. Suitable for patients without bleeding symptoms.
Ingredients:
* *Banxia Qu* (Massa Medicata Fermentata cum Pinellia) - 8 liang, prepared with 1 small cup of ginger juice and 1 large bowl of Zhuli (Bamboo Sap)
* *Huanglian* (Rhizoma Coptidis) - 2 liang, fried with ginger juice

Mix lightly with fresh ginger juice, add refined white honey, and form pills the size of bullets. Hold one pill in the mouth to dissolve slowly as needed.
Dao Cang Fa (Stomach Purging Method): Treats old stagnation in organs, intestines, stomach, and meridians when other medicines fail.
During the Sanfu days (dog days) of summer, select four hooves of fat, tender yellow beef (7-8 jin each). Slice thinly, remove sinews and fascia, and boil in a clay pot with running water until mushy. Pound and squeeze to extract juice. Repeat straining three times. Return the juice to the pot and simmer over low heat until it becomes amber-colored and gelatinous. Store in a double-boiler, maintaining slight warmth to prevent spoilage. Pre-requisites: Cease meat consumption, eat bland food for three days, and fast from dinner the day before. Perform in a bright, sealed, non-ventilated room. Place waste buckets and basins to collect excreta, and new porcelain bottles for urine. Have the patient enter the room. Administer one cup of the gelatinous juice, followed by another shortly after. Accumulate dozens of cups until vomiting and diarrhea occur naturally. Observe the expelled material; stop only when the root cause is fully expelled. Post-treatment: Severe thirst will follow; do not give water. Instead, drink the collected urine while hot to wash away residual impurities. After defecation, fatigue and hunger will appear. Start with rice water, then light thin porridge. After three days, cautiously introduce vegetable soups. Recover for half a month to a month. Spirit will refresh, body will feel light, and chronic ailments will vanish. Lifelong avoidance of beef is required to prevent recurrence. Remaining gel can be boiled into Deer Bone Gel-like substance (Xiatian Jiao), usable in tonics.
Gudisan: Treats cold-phlegm knotting above the diaphragm, and heaviness/head congestion/nasal stuffiness due to damp-heat.
Ingredients:

Strain and mix with the powder. Take warm in one dose. If no vomiting occurs, gradually increase the dose until rapid vomiting is achieved, then stop.
