[Jinkui Bentun Tang] Treats kidney accumulation with qi rushing upward to invade the lungs. Symptoms include wheezing, abdominal distension, and fever.
Herbs: Gancao (Licorice Root), Chuanxiong (Sichuan Lovage Rhizome), Baishao (White Peony Root), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) (each 1 qian); Banxia (Pinellia Tuber), Ganligenbaipi (Sweet Plum Root Bark), Gegen (Kudzu Root) (each 2 qian); Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) (3 slices).
The above nine herbs are decocted in water. Take warm in four doses, three times during the day and once at night. Stop when the abdominal accumulation moves downward and lower abdominal symptoms subside. If ineffective, add Rongyan (Halite) one zi. (Qianjin Fang omits Gancao and Huangqin, but includes Wuzhuyu, Shigao, Renshen, Fuling, Guixin.)
[Chi Wan] (From Jin Gui Yao Lue) Treats cold accumulation leading to cold extremities.
Herbs: Fuling (Poria), Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) (each 4 liang; one variant uses Guixin); Wutou (Aconite Lateralis Radix Praeparata) (2 pieces, processed); Xixin (Asarum Root) (1 liang; Qianjin Fang uses Renshen).
The above four herbs are ground into powder, mixed with Zhenzhu (Cinnabar) for color, and formed into honey pills the size of hemp seeds. Take three pills before meals with wine. Take twice during the day and once at night. If no effect, slightly increase the dose until effective. (Qianjin Fang omits Banxia, but includes Fuzi, Guixin, and Yewang.)
[Pujifang Formula] Uses Baifengxianzi 1 qian, Xiao Chuanwu 2 pieces, Banxia 3 pieces, Xingren 49 grains. Each is raw, pounded, and ground into powder. Form pills the size of Sophora seeds using red date flesh, coated with Huangdan (Lead Monoxide). Take seven pills morning and evening with warm wine. For children, make pills the size of millet grains, take 3-5 pills as appropriate. Stop taking when blood appears from the anus. Avoid heavy meat, raw/cold foods, fermented products, and vinegar. This formula has similar efficacy to Chi Wan, so it is attached here. This formula uses Wutou and Banxia together, utilizing their contrary nature to attack stubborn cold accumulations. Only those who deeply understand the profound principles of the sages can appreciate its mystery. This shares the same ingenious meaning as Hu Qia's use of Shizao Tang for supra-diaphragmatic accumulation with added Gancao and Daji. Pujifang uses only Wutou and Banxia, omitting Baifengxianzi and Xingren, coating with Huangdan, and stopping after seven pills when blood appears from the anus. The intensity of its "mingxuan" (adverse reaction leading to cure) is evident. Generally, contrary and mutually antagonistic drugs merely stimulate each other's toxicity and do not immediately harm. Later generations believed that contrary drugs must never be used together, which is shallow.
[Qiao Shi Yin Yang Gongji Wan] Treats various accumulations of cold and heat.
Herbs: Wuzhuyu, Ganjiang (processed), Guān Guì (Cinnamon Twig), Chuanwu (processed), Huanglian (stir-fried with ginger juice), Banxia (processed with ginger), Fuling, Yanhusuo, Renshen (each 1 liang); Chenxiang (separately ground), Hupo (separately ground, each 5 qian); Badoushuang (separately ground, 1 qian).
Grind into powder. Decoct Sijiao (Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit) 4 liang in water to make a paste for pill formation, size of mung beans. Take 8 fen per dose, increasing to 1.5 qian, taken with ginger soup. Take alternately with spleen-stomach regulating medicines. This formula comes from Mr. Shicai's required reading. When Mr. Shicai resided in Guo Garden, he taught this formula to an old woman named Guo, saying it was established by Qiao Sanyu. In the formula, Wuzhuyu and Guan Gui move through the liver, Ganjiang enters the spleen, and Chuanwu reaches the kidney, specifically using acrid and pungent properties to break the solid defenses of extreme yin. Banxia and Fuling open phlegm obstruction, Yanhusuo and Hupo dissipate blood stasis, Chenxiang opens qi blockage, Badoushuang sweeps away hard accumulations, Huanglian removes excessive qi, and Renshen assists the power of all ingredients. The formula taught to Old Woman Guo used yeast paste for pills, which is slightly milder than the Sijiao juice version. Its ingenuity lies entirely in taking it alternately with spleen-stomach medicines. I have tested this formula, often using Liu Jun Zi Tang removing Baizhu and doubling Fuling, adding Rougui and Danggui, forming pills with rice drink. Or take Zengsun Liu Jun Zi in the morning and Yin Yang Gong Ji in the evening; or take Gong Ji for one day and Liu Jun Zi for two or three days, depending on the patient's strength. However, the initial dose is always effective. When the accumulation shows signs of decline, stop taking it. This is what is meant by "stop when half or more of the disease is eliminated," focusing solely on tonifying the spleen.
[Qianjin Qipo Wanbing Wan] Treats seven types of pi masses, five types of dian epilepsy, ten types of zhu bewitchment, seven types of feishi flying corpse, twelve types of gu poison, five types of huang jaundice, twelve types of nue malaria, ten types of shui edema, eight types of da feng leprosy, twelve types of bi obstruction, wind entering the head, dim vision, upper jiao qi cough, sound like a water frog in the throat, inability to sleep or lie down, food not transforming into muscle, stagnation of qi in the five zang organs, unresolving accumulations, blockage, heart and abdomen fullness extending to chest and back, drum-like qi hardening flowing into limbs, or chest/diaphragm fullness occurring periodically, lasting 10-20 years without cure, five types of dysentery, gan parasites, tapeworms, other worms, upper/lower cold/heat imbalance, long-standing phlegm-fluid retention causing somnolence, emaciation, weakness, penetrating marrow becoming chronic illness, body qi swelling, vomiting/reversal of diet, soreness/pain in waist and legs, heaviness in limbs, inability to stand/walk for long periods, women suffering from postpartum cold invading the uterus, impurity in the organ, blockage, cold stasis in the womb, incomplete discharge, periodic pain, infertility, pediatric red/white dysentery, fox odor, deafness, nasal congestion, etc. This medicine takes three pills as one course. Taking no more than three courses eliminates ten thousand diseases. The description is endless, hence called Wanbing Wan.
Herbs: Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis), Shexiang (Musk), Xijiao (Rhinoceros Horn, sliced), Sangbaipi (Mulberry Root Bark, chopped, stir-fried), Fuling, Ganjiang (processed), Guixin, Danggui, Chuanxiong, Shaoyao, Gansui, Huangqin, Shujiao (remove eyes and closed mouths, stir-fry until oil appears), Xixin, Jiegeng, Badou (remove skin, heart, membrane, stir-fry), Qianhu, Ziwan (remove rhizome), Puhuang (lightly stir-fried), Tinglizi (stir-fried), Fangfeng, Renshen, Zhusha (Cinnabar), Xionghuang (Realgar, fried in oil), Huanglian (remove roots), Daji (chopped, stir-fried), Yuyuliang (vinegar-quenched), Yuanhua (each 1.6 qian, vinegar-fried until red), Wugong (6 segments, remove head/feet, roast), Shiliyi (1 cun, remove head/feet, roast), Yuanqing (14 pieces, stir-fry with glutinous rice until rice turns yellow-black, remove head/feet/wings).
The above 31 herbs. (Cui's version lacks Huangqin, Sangbaipi, Jiegeng, Fangfeng, totaling 27 herbs.) Process finely. Niuhuang, Shexiang, Xijiao, Zhusha, Xionghuang, Yuyuliang, Badou are separately ground. Others are combined and pounded. Sieve through heavy silk. Mix with white honey, pound 3000 times, seal tightly. Take 3 pills on an empty stomach at dawn with wine, size of Sophora seeds. Mild diarrhea expelling 3 sheng of foul water is ideal. For sudden acute diseases, take anytime, aiming for vomiting/diarrhea. If no vomiting/diarrhea, add 1 pill, up to 3-5 pills, must achieve vomiting/diarrhea. Do not limit pill count. If disease is strong and medicine weak, no vomiting/diarrhea occurs, not due to other reasons. If effect is slow, give hot drink. If vomiting/diarrhea persists, stop with 2-3 mouthfuls of sour rice. Avoid stale/smelly, raw/cold, sour/slippery/sticky foods, garlic, pork, chicken, fish, dog, beef, horse, donkey meat, baijiu, sexual intercourse. After 7 days, take medicine one day, tonify two days. Eat new rice, chive root juice, make soup/congee, 3-4 meals is excellent. Do not overeat. Contraindicated in pregnancy. After vomiting/diarrhea, keep mouth closed, speak little, rest in a warm room away from wind. If traveling and sudden illness with no water, use urine for administration. For infants under 1 year, mother takes amount equivalent to 2 small beans, aiming for vomiting/diarrhea. Acute/near diseases use larger doses; chronic diseases use smaller doses. Aim for mild loose stools. (Detailed dosage notes see Qianjin Yanyi Gallbladder Organ section under this formula.)

Decoct in red wine, take before meals. Avoid sour vinegar and raw/cold foods.
[Jian Gui Wan] Treats cold pathogen invading the lower jiao, blood/qi blockage forming stone leiomyoma, large hard abdomen not resolving for a long time.
Herbs: Fuzi (processed, remove skin/navel, 4 qian), Jianyu (if unavailable, use Linlijia; for obese patients with phlegm, use Baijiu and Nanting substitute), Shiyingzhi (each 3 qian, separately flown/grinded), Zexie, Rougui (avoid fire), Yanhusuo, Muxiang (each 2 qian), Binglang (2.5 qian), Xuemei (1.5 qian, separately ground), Shuizhi (1 qian, if Ezhu unavailable substitute), Taoren (30 grains, remove skin/hilt, stir-fry with Ganqi ash, remove ash), Jing Sanleng (5 qian, chopped), Dahuang (3 qian, chopped, soak with Sanleng in wine overnight, dry).
The above 13 herbs, except Xuemei and Taoren, are ground together. Mix with the separately ground two ingredients. Make paste with red wine, form pills size of Sophora seeds. Soak the above herbs in 2 jin of true sesame oil. Spring 5 days, Summer 3 days, Autumn 7 days, Winter 10 days. Boil until black, strain. Add human hair and egg-sized clump of hair, boil again, filter clear. Slowly add Zhen Huangdan (Lead Monoxide) and boil until consistency is moderate. Add Mangxiao, Sawei, Rushiang, Moyao each 5 qian. Remove from fire. Add Suhexiang You 0.5 liang, Shexiang 3 qian, mix evenly to form plaster. Store in porcelain. Apply appropriate amount on large red paper to affected area. Internally take spleen-tonifying, accumulation-resolving, depression-opening medicines. Plaster must be centered on the mass, not off-center, otherwise the mass may migrate to weaker areas and become ineffective. Cover with cotton paper, spread Mangxiao half-finger thick around the site, apply heat with iron for about one hour, three times daily. Replenish Mangxiao as consumed. After a month, when medicinal power is exhausted, plaster falls off naturally and heals. For long-standing cases, use two plasters consecutively, all will resolve. If liver accumulation is on the left hypochondrium, add Lvhuo powder and Mangxiao for moxibustion/heating. If accumulation disperses, applying another plaster on the migration site will cause it to return to the original nest. (Note: Text implies if treatment is misplaced, accumulation moves; re-application targets the new location or prevents recurrence.)
(Pujifang lacks Qianghuo, Heishen, Baizhi, Tianma, Shengdi, Chishao. Adds Chuanwu, Nanting, Banxia, Gansui, Gancao, Renshen, Wulingzhi each 5 qian.)
[Pill Formula] Treats pi caused by eating fish/turtles. This formula is fastest, others are ineffective.
Herbs: Manli (Eel, 2 pairs, remove hair, boil in half water/half wine until soft, add Sawei 5 qian, boil until liquid is gone, take meat, pound, dry; bones roast with butter), Shuihonghuazi (6 liang), Baizhu (2 liang), Sawei (1 liang), Shenqu, Fuling, Danggui (each 1 liang), Juhong, Gancao (roasted, each 5 qian).
Grind into powder. Add half cup fresh ginger juice, refined white honey, form pills size of bullet. Chew one pill, wash down with boiling water or warm wine, morning and evening.
[Sawei Huapi San] Treats malaria pi with cold/heat and leiomyoma. Contraindicated for deficient persons.
Herbs: Chuanxiong, Danggui, Baizhu, Chifuling, Honghua, Sawei (each 1 qian), Biejia Jian (butter-roasted and pickled, 3 qian), Dahuang (8 qian, wine-fried), Qiaomai Mian (1 liang).
Grind into powder. Take 4 qian per dose, mix with good wine and thin paste. Three days after taking, abdominal pain with pus/blood indicates efficacy. Avoid raw/cold, greasy, heavy meat, wet flour, etc.
