Dong (Left side): Heart fire flares upward, Kidney water is drawn up from below; thus, heart fire does not ascend excessively, and Kidney water does not descend uncontrollably. If heart fire ascends from above, Kidney water does not sink into the depths. Water and Fire mutually support and nourish each other.
Whenever mental stress arises, Qi descends and leaks, resembling the sensation of Jing (Essence) about to leak. This is due to deficiency of both Heart and Kidney, failing to interact and support each other. Dizziness occurs frequently, which is also a manifestation of Yin deficiency leading to Yang rising. The proposed treatment is to tonify and connect the Heart and Kidney, combined with extinguishing Liver wind.

Jiang (Right side): The Heart governs spiritual clarity (Shen), and the Gallbladder governs decision-making. Where spiritual clarity reaches, even illusory realms can be constructed by intention, but it is the Wood of the Gallbladder that makes decisions in between, so that every movement conforms to rhythm. Currently, the pulse is fine and wiry, the Guan position is hard, the Ren Ying pulse is floating and exposed, and the tongue coating is thin and white. This is due to insufficiency of the Ying (Nutritive) level, lack of nourishment for Liver Wood, rising of Jue Yang, drifting of Jia Wood (Gallbladder), loss of its decision-making function, causing mental confusion and insomnia (eyes unable to close). Although currently stabilized, abdominal distension and dizziness indicate that Liver Wood excess is still evident. The proposed treatment is to soothe the Liver, calm the Spirit, and facilitate communication between Water and Fire.
