Water-like diarrhea unceasing: Take Mengtie Ren (Semina Momordicae), Mudingxiang (Cardamomi Fructus) (five of each), and Shexiang (Moschus) (one fen). Grind into powder, mix with rice soup to form a paste. Insert into the umbilicus and apply externally, covering with a plaster for protection (from *Wu Fushou Jingfang*).
Chronic diarrhea not healing: Mash raw scallions (*Congei Herba*), add Huangdan (Lithargyrum), and form pills the size of beans. Fill into the umbilicus and cover externally with a plaster; it will stop immediately (from *Shibian Liangfang*).
Sudden onset diarrhea and dysentery: Mash garlic (*Da Suan*) and apply to both soles of the feet; it may also be applied to the umbilicus, leading to recovery (from *Qianjin Yi Fang*).
Abdominal colic with urgent and difficult defecation in dysentery: Use fried salt (two packs). Apply by mutual heating/ironing over the affected area (from *Shixiao Danfang*).
Immortal Formula for Treating Dysentery: Decoct Qiancao (Radix Rubiae) (a handful) with water, wash the soles of both feet, and recover (from *Qifang Leibian*).
Another method: Use Wutong Ye (Folium Firmianae) (three or four jin), decoct with water, and wash the feet to heal spontaneously (same source).
Red and white dysentery: Take Badou (Fructus Crotonis Tiglii) (fresh ones, quantity不拘, grind into mud) and Xionghuang (Realgar) (pure ones, grind extremely fine). Combine to form a paste. Cleanse the Baihui point (actually referring to Yintang/Governor Vessel 29 area at glabella) on the patient's glabella with water. Spread the paste on oiled paper, using a piece approximately this large, and apply to the acupoint. For young adults, burn one incense stick's worth of time; for the elderly and children, half an incense stick or three to four cun, depending on the person's size. When the incense burns out, gently remove the medicine and wipe clean; it is miraculous (from *Neifu Mifang*).
Anorexic dysentery (Jinkou Li) (Although critically dangerous, if there is still slight heat in the chest and heart, it can be treated): Take 49 seeds of D Bimazi (Fructus Ricini) and Badou (Fructus Crotonis Tiglii) (each shelled), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis) (one qian five fen), transparent Xionghuang (Realgar), transparent Zhusha (Cinnabaris) (do not use Yinsha), Shexiang (Moschus) (each five fen), and Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) (one fen). Grind all into an extremely fine powder. Mix with the previously prepared Bimazi and Badou mud, add Congzhi (Scallion Juice) and Baimi (White Honey) (small amounts of each), and form pills the size of hazelnuts. First, place a paper patch on the patient's glabella, place the medicine pill on the paper, and cover with a plaster. If the skin on the glabella swells up, it indicates recovery. If it does not swell, it is incurable (from *Luzhutang Fang*).
Chronic dysentery causing prolapse of the large intestine due to slipping: Hezi (Fructus Chebulae), Chishizhi (Halloysitum Rubrum), and Longgu (Os Mastodi et Ossis Frontis) (equal parts) are ground into powder. Mix with a small amount of wax tea to moisten the medicine, sprinkle onto the rectal head, and rub in using silk fabric (from *Jingquan Quanshu*).
Rectal prolapse after dysentery: Use Fuping Cao (Herba Lemnae) that has been frosted, bake dry on tiles, grind into powder, and iron over the affected area using a hot shoe sole (from *Fengshi Jinnang*).
Another method: Use Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis) powder (three qian) and Baifan (Alumen) (one piece), decoct with water, and wash the area for immediate effect (from *Sanyin Fang*).
