Grind into powder and sprinkle onto the ulcer surface.

Treatment for ulcers on the lips: Take old soil from walls, grind finely, and apply to the affected area.
Treatment for tightness and constriction of the lips, inability to open or close, inability to eat or drink; if untreated, death ensues. Make a wick from white cloth, about the thickness of a finger, place it on the blade of an axe or knife, and burn it until liquid (blade sweat) exudes from the blade. Wipe off this liquid and apply to the lips, two to three times daily. Alternatively, burn old blue cloth to ash, mix with wine for oral administration, or mix with lard (Zhu Zhi) for topical application. Or, burn snake slough (She Tui) to ash, clean the area first, then apply. Or, grind larvae of scarab beetles (Qi Cao) to ash, mix with lard for application. Or, burn human hair, honeycomb, and animal hairs to ash, mix with lard for application. Or, boil Purslane (Ma Chi Xian) to make a decoction for washing the affected area.

Treatment for tongue stiffness and swelling resembling a pig's bladder: Prick the large vessels on both sides under the tongue with a needle. Once blood flows, the swelling subsides. Do not prick the central vessel, as this may cause uncontrollable bleeding; instead, cauterize it with a copper chopstick heated by fire. Alternatively, use rust from a cooking pot (Guo Xiu) obtained by burning weeds, mix with vinegar, and apply to the upper and lower surfaces of the tongue. Reapply after the previous layer falls off; the swelling will subside shortly. Many people are unfamiliar with this condition, and delayed treatment leads to death. In cases of tongue swelling, there is invariably a worm-like structure under the tongue, resembling a mole cricket or a silkworm, with a head and tail. If the head is small and white, cauterize it with a red-hot iron nail, and the swelling will subside.
Another prescription: Sharpen a needle to an extreme point, prick gently, eight to nine times daily. Once all blood is expelled, pain decreases and swelling subsides.
Treatment for sudden tongue swelling protruding outside the mouth: Puncture the comb of a rooster to extract blood, collect it in a cup, soak the tongue in it, and swallow the blood immediately; the tongue will retract.
Treatment for double tongue (Chong She): Red-hot rusty iron lock, scrape off the rust, grind into powder, mix with water to make one cup, and hold in the mouth.
Another prescription: Take the earth from the center of the stove directly beneath the pot bottom, mix with wine, and apply to the tongue. Place a bean-sized piece of red lead oxide (Huang Dan) under the tongue.
Treatment for spontaneous bleeding of the tongue: Grind fried Sophora flower (Huai Hua) into powder and sprinkle onto the affected area; this cures the condition.
Another prescription: Burn human hair to ash, mix with water, and take one qian orally.
Treatment for throat erosion and tongue ulcers caused by excessive alcohol consumption: Take meat of river snails (Tian Luo), cook with scallion, fermented soybean (Chi Dou), ginger, and Sichuan pepper (Jiao) to make a decoction. Drink three cups; this is effective.
