Cinnabaris (Zhusha, 朱砂), Alum (Kufan, 枯矾), Borax (Pengsha, 硼砂) [separately ground], Niter (Huosha, 火硝) [separately ground, each 2 qian], Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄) (0.5 fen), Borneol (Bingpian, 冰片) (3 li), Musk (Shexiang, 麝香) (2 li).
Grind the above medicines into a fine powder. Store in a porcelain bottle. Do not allow the gas to escape. For males, use the left side; for females, use the right side. Use a bone hairpin to apply the powder onto the caruncle of the inner canthus of the eye. Alternatively, it may be insufflated into the nose. It is used to treat infantile convulsions (Er Jing, 儿惊).
(Applicable to all types of sores and ulcers, as well as internal injuries, Yin deficiency, consumptive diseases with coughing, phlegm-wheezing, blood disorders, etc.)
Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (Jinyinhua, 金银花) pure flowers (2 jin), Lilii Bulbus (Baihe, 百合) (1 jin), Donkey-hide Gelatin (Ejiao, 阿胶) true quality (8 liang, stir-fried), Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus (Chuanbeimu, 川贝母) (remove heart, 8 liang, ground into powder).
Use Prunella vulgaris (Xiakucao, 夏枯草) and Morus alba leaves (Sangye, 桑叶), each 20 jin. Decoct to make juice and boil into paste. Mash and form into pills, each weighing 3 qian.
For Lung萎 (Fei Wei, 肺痿 - atrophy of the lung) and Lung abscess (Fei Yong, 肺痈), take with Lily Decoction (Baihe Tang, 百合汤). For palpitations/trembling of the heart (Xin Chan, 心颤), take with Cinnabar and Ophiopogon Decoction (Zhusha Maidong Tang, 朱砂麦冬汤). For chronic cough (Jiu Sou, 久嗽), take with Schisandra Decoction (Wuwei Tang, 五味汤). For intestinal abscess (Chang Yong, 肠痈) and mammary abscess (Ru Yong, 乳痈), use Trichosanthes fruit (Gualou, 栝蒌) with shell, ground with vinegar, available for use.
Yinshicao (Beiyincao, 背阴草 - i.e., [missing character] grass), harvested on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, 6th day of the 6th lunar month, or 7th day of the 7th lunar month from places where sunlight does not reach. Cut off the root one chi deep using a bamboo knife, harvest tender tip leaves, dry in shade. Wash clean and dry in shade. [Text fragment: Ren Gou, Yuan Ban, Gusuibu]. Grind all together into powder. Form pills with refined honey, size of wu-tzu (walnut seed). Take freely with aged wine or salt water decoction. For all five labors and seven injuries (Wu Lao Qi Shang, 五劳七伤), left hemiplegia and right paralysis (Zuo Tan You Huan, 左瘫右痪), taking this will yield miraculous effects.
Whole deer meat (one piece), remove fat and sinews until clean. Use Goji berries (Qizi, 杞子) 10 jin, rice wash water 50 jin, well water 50 jin. Boil until reduced by half, filter out. Then add rice wash water one dou. [Method similar to] boiling pig lungs. For early stage of deficiency consumption (Xu Sun, 虚损), one dose restores original vitality.
Human milk, Radish juice, Pear juice, Lotus root juice, Child's urine (each one bowl), Radix Hexapetalae (Liuyuexue Gen, 六月雪根) [crushed for juice, half bowl], Xingtoucao (Wake Head Grass) [crushed with roots for juice].
