Treatment for "Mu Shen" (abnormal erection or swelling of the penis resembling wood):
Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 1 liang), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) (each 5 fen), Ye Lan Ju Hua Gen (Radix Wild Chrysanthemi Indici) (5 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally. After ingestion, cover with a blanket to induce sweating until sweat pours from the scrotum; this is the desired effect. One dose results in cure. For severe cases, double the dosage and decoct.

Treatment for "Hu Shan" (Inguinal Hernia, characterized by retraction and pain during the day, protrusion and relief at night, accompanied by enhanced sexual potency):
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 5 qian), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 3 qian), Fu Ling (Poria, 3 qian), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 3 fen), Ju He (Tangerine Seed, 5 fen), Bai Wei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix, 5 fen), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Herba) [dosage missing in text].
Decoct in water and take orally. Cure expected within 5-6 doses.

[Another Formula]
Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex, 3 liang), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), Gou Qi Zi (Lycii Fructus), Yu Rou (Corni Fructus), Tian Dong (Asparagi Radix) (each 1.5 liang), Yu Biao (Bufo Caulis, 3 liang, stir-fried), Lian Xu (Nelumbinis Stamen), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus) [dosage implied as part of the mixture].
Grind into powder, form pills with honey, or use Jin Ying Gao (Cherokee Rose Fruit Paste) to make pills, sized like wu tong seeds. Take 3 qian on an empty stomach with clear soup. The disease is cured upon completion of the medication.

Another Formula:
Gui Shen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, wine-washed), Bai Fu Ling (Poria), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Du Zhong (Eucommiae Cortex), Jin Ying Zi (Cherokee Rose Fruit), Yin Yang Huo (Epimedii Folium, remove edges, stir-fry until crisp), Jin Cha Shi Hu (Dendrobii Officinalis Caulis) [dosage missing].
Soak the herbs in water for half a day, decoct and take before bedtime. Prevents nocturnal emission for seven days.

Treatment for nocturnal emission due to vivid dreams, accompanied by palpitations and emotional stagnation:
Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, 2 liang), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, 2 liang), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix, 1 liang, remove heart), Fu Ling (Poria), Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood) (each 1 liang), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Zhi Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparata) (each 3 qian).
Grind together into powder, take 2 qian with wine. For those with strong constitution, remove Huang Qi and add Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 1 liang) for better efficacy.

Treatment for nocturnal emission caused by excessive mental labor:
Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) (each 1 liang), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Qian Shi (Euryales Semen) (each 5 qian), Chuan Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 5 fen), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 3 fen).
Decoct in water and take orally.

Treatment for the same condition:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 1.5 qian), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, 3 qian), Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen) (each 1.5 qian), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, 5 qian), Yuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix) [dosage cut off], Dan Shen (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix) [text fragment "Shen" likely refers to this or another herb, dosage cut off] (each 1.5 qian).
