[Bushen Shizhi Wan]
Magnetitum (two taels, quenched seven times in vinegar and washed with water until fine), Cuscutae Semen (two taels, processed with wine), Schisandrae Fructus (five qian), Dendrobii Caulis (one tael), Lycii Fructus (one tael, stir-fried with wine), *Shanzi* (one tael, stir-fried with wine; likely a textual variant or abbreviation for *Astragali Complanati Semen*), Sophorae Fructus (five qian).
Grind all the above into powder. Form pills using refined honey. Take three qian each morning on an empty stomach, washed down with salt water. This prescription is specifically for treating insufficient Kidney Qi, dimness of the pupil, and the gradual onset of internal cataracts (*Neizhang*). It specifically treats photophobia with excessive tearing, nebula invading the cornea/pupil, symptoms that come and go intermittently, and chronic conditions that do not heal. Long-term administration will prevent recurrence forever.
[Paeoniae Radix Alba Formula]
Paeoniae Radix Alba (stir-fried with wine), Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (washed with wine), Asparagi Radix, Schisandrae Fructus, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Poria, Cinnamomi Cortex, Plantaginis Semen (lightly stir-fried), *Cangu Pi* (likely a textual error for Moutan Cortex/Dan Pi), *Huang* (likely Phellodendri Cortex/Huang Bo).
Grind all together into powder. Form honey pills the size of wutong seeds. Take three qian per dose, washed down with plain warm water before going to sleep.
Treats cold tears flowing from the eyes, pain in the cornea/black sphere, and photophobia/fear of sunlight.
[Prunellae Spica Formula]
Prunellae Spica, Cyperi Rhizoma Powder, Mori Folium (Summer Mulberry Leaf).
Grind the above medicines equally into powder. Take three qian per dose, washed down with Ophiopogonis Decoction.
Treats eye pain, which worsens at night, or cases where applying bitter-cold drops aggravates the condition. Also treats Liver deficiency with cold tears, photophobia, and other such symptoms.
[Prunellae Spica and Cyperi Rhizoma Formula]
Prunellae Spica (four taels), Cyperi Rhizoma (four taels), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (eight qian).
Grind all together into powder. Take one qian five fen per dose, washed down with clear tea/water.
Treats adults and children suffering from various types of wind-eye and qi-eye diseases (chronic conjunctivitis/allergic eye disease). Wind-rash pain and itching on the eyelids, nebula invading the eyeball. Head wind causing twitching/spasms, both eyes gradually becoming red and ulcerated. Or the sclera has a bluish tint, and the cornea/pupil has white patches. Between the black and white parts, a red ring appears like a belt, called "Baolun Hongzhang" (red encircling the cornea). Vision is obscured as if through fog. Or dry mouth and bitter taste in the tongue, excessive tearing with sensitivity/grittiness. Also effective for eye diseases caused by smallpox/rashes in children.
[Chanhua Wubi Wan]
Bombyx Batryticatus (one tael, cleaned of dirt, wings and feet removed, lightly stir-fried), Serpentis Skin (six qian, lightly stir-fried), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Saposhnikoviae Radix, Poria (ground into powder and washed with water), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle, Haliotidis Concha (soaked in flowing eastward water overnight, lightly stir-fried with salt water, four taels each), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (thirteen taels), Gardeniae Fructus (charred/stir-fried until black, two taels), Tribuli Fructus (half a jin, stir-fried with rice until yellow, thorns and rice removed), Scutellariae Radix, Chrysanthemi Flos (three taels each), Atractylodis Rhizoma (immersed in rice wash, sun-dried for half a day; used with one jin and four liang of sesame seeds).
Grind all into powder. Form pills using paste from steamed bread. Take two qian after dinner and before sleep, washed down with clear tea. Avoid foods that trigger wind (wind-inducing foods).
