Angelicae Pubescentis Radix (Huafen) (ten taels of the best white variety), Rheum Palmatum Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex (Huangbai) (those with deep color), Curcumae Longae Rhizoma (Jianghuang) (each five taels), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi) (three taels), Zhen Nong, Poria Cocos (Fuling), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao). Grind together into a fine powder. Store in porcelain vessels. Do not let air escape. Whenever encountering red, hot, swollen, and painful conditions where fever exists but pus has not yet formed, as well as during the summer fire season, mix with tea juice for administration without altering its form.
Treats ulcers where the patient's primordial qi is inherently deficient, spirit is timid and weak, or there is excessive discharge of pus, causing the spirit to lack support, with drowsy sleep and fatigue, empty and thin pulses in all six positions, cold feet, and a cool body.
Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Astragali Membranacei Radix (Huangqi) (prepared, each two qian), Poria Cocos (Fuling), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Guishen), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhigancao), Corni Fructus (Yurou), Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus (Wuweizi). Decoct in water. Take on an empty stomach. Continue taking until the spirit recovers, hands and feet become warm, spleen and stomach awaken, and muscle color turns red. These symptoms indicate primordial qi deficiency and collapse, threatening to transform into a deteriorating condition (Huai Zheng).
Treats early-stage carbuncles and sores.
