Pepper (3 qian) is ground into a fine powder. Mix with a small amount of rock sugar evenly. Apply into the umbilicus (navel) the night before, and wrap tightly with cloth. Remove it the next day, and the disease will be cured.
Another method: Place pepper powder into the umbilicus and cover with an ointment plaster. For those aged sixteen, use 5 fen; for younger ages, decrease proportionally; for those over sixty, also decrease proportionally. This method is miraculously effective.
Treats breath exhaled from the mouth and nose that swirls and does not dissipate, condensing like a black lid. After ten days, it spreads to the shoulders and connects with the flesh, becoming hard as metal or stone, making it impossible to eat or drink. Decoct Alisma Orientale (Zexie) in water. Drink three to five times daily. Continue taking for five days until cured.
Treats pediatric malaria where oral medication cannot be administered.
Hematitum (Dai Zhe Shi, 5 qian, processed with vinegar), Cinnabar (Zhu Sha, 5 qian), Arsenic Trioxide (Ren Yan, one grain the size of a bean). Wrap in six layers of paper, dampen, and bake dry. Add a small amount of Moschus (Shexiang), grind into powder. Mix with sesame oil. Apply a small amount to the tip of the nose, the glabella (between eyebrows), and the palms and soles. Miraculously effective.
Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang, 8 liang), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao, 4 liang), Plantaginis Semen (Cheqianzi, 4 liang), Raphani Semen (Luoboz/Laifuzi, 8 liang).
All used raw, ground into powder. Form pills using water. Take 3 qian per dose, washed down with boiling water. For the weak and elderly, take 1 fen of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen), decocted in water, to wash down the pill.
Coptidis Rhizoma (Chuanlian), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Trichosanthis Pericarpium (Kuashao - *Note: likely refers to Gualou Pi or similar*), Crataegi Fructus (Shanzha Rou, each 1.2 qian), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhike), Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (Nongpuo, stir-fried with ginger juice), Arecae Semen (Binglang), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Qingpi, each 0.8 qian), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang, 2 fen ground into powder).
Decoct these herbs in water. Take on an empty stomach. Applicable regardless of whether it is bloody dysentery or white dysentery, accompanied by fever and abdominal pain. For pure white dysentery, remove Sanguisorbae Radix (Diyu) and Persicae Semen (Taoren), and add Tangerine Peel (Juhong, 4 fen).

Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, wine-fried), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao, each 6 fen), Tangerine Peel (Juhong), Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (Nongpuo, stir-fried with ginger juice), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang, each 3 fen), Sanguisorbae Radix (Diyu, 4 fen, stir-fried with vinegar), Carthami Flos (Honghua).
Decoct in water. Take on an empty stomach. The above three prescriptions are extremely effective.
