凡半周一岁乳子,偶患疮疡,必须先服解毒之药一二剂,然后稍用外治,无不愈者。倘
不先解毒,而遽尔妄用搽敷,必致逼毒入内,反为大害,以致难治。慎之!

For infants aged between half a year and one year who accidentally suffer from sores or ulcers, it is imperative to first administer one or two doses of detoxifying medicine, followed by slight external treatment; such cases will invariably be cured. If detoxification is not performed first, but rather indiscriminate application of topical pastes and poultices is rashly employed, it will inevitably force the pathogenic toxins inward, causing severe harm and rendering the condition difficult to treat. Exercise utmost caution!
Jiedu Tang (Detoxification Decoction)
Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix), Dangshen (Codonopsis Radix), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Jingjiesui (Schizonepetae Spica), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix) (each 1 qian); Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (each 0.5 qian); Dengcao (Junci Medulla) (10 stalks). Decoct in water and take orally.
If constipation is present, add Shuda Huang (Prepared Rheum Palmatum Radix et Rhizoma) 1 qian for efficacy.
Effective Prescription for Treating Scabies
Dafengzi Rou (Endocarpium of Aleuritidis Fructus) (3 qian); Qingfen (Calomelas), Mingfan (Alumen) (each 0.5 qian).
Grind all into fine powder for later use. First, boil 2 liang of cured pork belly with 5 qian of Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba) in a pot until the Mahuang turns black. Filter out the dregs, allow to cool, then mix with the aforementioned powder and apply topically. This method yields rapid results.
For heat-toxin-induced sores and scabies: Use 2 qian each of Sheng Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Sheng Liuhuang (Sulfur), and Chen Xicha (Aged Fine Tea). Grind into fine powder, mix with fresh pig lard, pound uniformly, and apply topically.
For widespread sores on the bodies of infants aged one to three years: Soak Zicai (Seaweed) half a qian in genuine Sesame Oil (Zhen Mayou) and apply. Apply only to healed areas before applying again; do not cover the entire body at once.
Prescription for Tinea Capitis (White Baldness): Take ten eggs, remove shells, beat evenly, and fry in a small pot with Sesame Oil into a cake. While hot, place it on the head. After about an hour, when the egg cools, remove it. Reheat the upper side with oil and replace it on the head. Repeat several times until cured; the effect is miraculous.
Pediatric White Baldness Tinea: Use 2 liang of soil residue fused inside a lime kiln after being heated red, Baicaoshuang (Soot from Kitchen Chimney) and Xionghuang (Realgar) each 5 qian, Mingfan (Alumen) 3 qian, Yupi (Ulmus Bark) half a qian, and Qingfen (Calomelas) 0.6 fen. Grind into fine powder. After shaving the head, mix with pig bile and apply. The effect is divine. Another prescription: Roast pigeon droppings on new tiles until carbonized (preserving properties), grind into powder, and mix with Sesame Oil for topical application. If crusts pile up, wash them off with a decoction of Rice Water (Migan Shui), Sichuan Pepper (Chuanjiao), and Scallion (Cong) before reapplying.
Yellow Fluid Head Sore (also known as Favus): This sore exudes yellow fluid, spreads downward, and gradually extends to the eyebrows and ears. If untreated, it can be fatal. Mix 5 qian of Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) and 3 qian of Qingfen (Calomelas) into fine powder. Form a paste with Sesame Oil, coat the inside of a coarse bowl ensuring moderate moisture, invert the bowl over the affected area, and fumigate with burning Mugwort Leaves (Aiye). Burn slowly until blackened, then place on the ground to dissipate fire toxicity. Add 0.3 fen of Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum), grind uniformly, mix with Sesame Oil, and apply several times until cured. Another prescription: Dry and grind Wushu Gen (Root of Phoebe zhennan) found near water, 4-5 qian, mixed with 1 qian of Xionghuang (Realgar), applied with raw oil. Yet another prescription: Boil three eggs, separate yolks, stir-fry until charred and oil is extracted, then apply. Cured in three to five applications.
For all unnamed swellings and toxic masses, various forms of erysipelas, and hot blisters with damp sores: Take 4 liang of earthworm feces from shaded areas and 2 liang of Pinxiao (Mirabilite). Grind into powder, mix with fresh well water to form a thick paste, apply to the affected area, and change when dry.
Sores appearing on the lower thighs near the abdomen in infants: If the skin peels open and spreads to the abdomen, the condition is incurable, termed Taibo (Fetal Peeling). Apply Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) smeared with pig bile, roasted and ground, topically. Alternatively, add equal parts of Fulonggan (Dragon's Liver - calcined clay) powder, moisten with saliva, and apply. Internally, administer Huma Wan (Sesame Pill); see the "Syphilis" section above for the formula.
Pediatric Beard-like Sore: Char small red dates until carbonized, mix with Sesame Oil, and apply for cure. Additionally, condensation water from rice steamers is effective when applied.
Pediatric Heat Sore: Boil five eggs, separate yolks. Add a ball of tangled hair (size of an egg) to the pot and simmer. Initially dry, then the hair chars, releasing liquid. Continue simmering until the liquid increases and turns yellow, with the hair fully liquefying. Remove, cool, and apply to the sore. Immediately sprinkle Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) powder on top. The effect is divine.
Soft Carbuncle on Infant's Head: These carbuncles recur frequently and are hard to eradicate completely. Take one Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), slice open, and grind the cut surface flat. Attach around the carbuncle using flour paste. Insert a rush pith (Dengcao) on one side to drain pus. Upon healing, the Zhike falls off naturally without leaving scars. Another prescription: Mashed large taro root applied topically is also excellent.
