Treats sudden onset of cold-stroke, with cold limbs (Jue Ni), vomiting, diarrhea with clear-colored stool, cold breath, shivering skin, and absence of sweating; this is a syndrome where excessive Yin obscures Yang.
Fuzi (Prepared Aconiti Lateralis Radix, peeled and umbilicus removed) Ganjiang (Prepared Zingiberis Rhizoma, 5 qian) Congbai (Five stalks, juice extracted) Zhudan (Half of a large pig gallbladder)
Use two large cups of water, decoct Fuzi and Ganjiang, leaving approximately two cun of liquid.
Make two or three medicinal cakes,
Three cun is named Guan
Yu Jiayan said: Cold invading the Shaoyin channel, executing its severe command, burying the faint Yang, causing skin cracking without sweat, and loss of spirit. Urgently use Fuzi and Ganjiang,

of Yang-tonifying herbs
Treats sudden acute cold-stroke, where the patient's couli (pores/skin texture) is inherently deficient, with spontaneous profuse sweating, cold body, and cold limbs, or externally manifesting false heat and restlessness. This is Yin excess forcing Yang to escape outward, thus the previous formula does not use Congbai.
Fuzi (Prepared Aconiti Lateralis Radix, peeled and umbilicus removed) Ganjiang (Prepared Zingiberis Rhizoma, 5 qian) Two large cups of water. Decoct until one cup remains. Add one clam-shell measure of pig bile, mix and take warm or cold, do not use
Yu Jiayan said: If the person's true Yang is inherently unstable, couli inherently loose, Yin excess internally, it must force Yang to escape outward, with profuse sweating, and stiffness of the spine and neck.
Suddenly advance
After treating an acute illness with Fuzi-Ganjiang Decoction, use this formula for the second dose to follow up. Because Fuzi and Ganjiang specialize in restoring Yang, but the cold pathogen that invaded first [affected Ying],
therefore add Danggui and Rougui to dispel cold in the Ying level, so that the medicine matches the disease.
Fuzi (Prepared Aconiti Lateralis Radix, peeled and umbilicus removed) Ganjiang (Prepared) Danggui Rougui (2.5 qian) Two large cups of water, decoct until one cup remains. Add
one clam-shell measure of honey,
Yu Jiayan said: Secondly, in the previous medicines, one must first add Danggui and Rougui to simultaneously regulate Ying. Because when cold pathogen invades, it first damages Ying blood.
Otherwise
When Yang Qi is about to return, Yin cold has slightly decreased, and there are slight signs of improvement, use this formula for the third dose.
Fuzi (Prepared Aconiti Lateralis Radix, peeled and umbilicus removed) Ganjiang (Prepared) Danggui Rougui (1.5 qian) Renshen Gancao (2 qian) Water
two large cups, Ginger (roasted)
Yu Jiayan said: Secondly, in the previous medicines, one must add Renshen and Gancao to regulate Yuan Qi and transport supplies, achieving success within the strategy tent. Otherwise, the ferocity of Jiang and Fu
