Treats carbuncles and sores in the Yang aspect, or those located between the Zang-Fu organs, chest, breasts, lungs, and diaphragm; this formula is optimal. For severe cases, administer several doses promptly, and there will be no failure to heal.
Honeysuckle Flower (Jinyinhua), Chinese Mugwort Rhizome (Tu Beimu), Dandelion (Pugongying), Prunella Vulgaris Spike (Xiakucao) (each 3 qian), Spatholobus Stem (Hongteng) (7-8 qian), Forsythia Fruit (Lianqiao) (1 liang or 5-7 qian), good wine 2 bowls.
For mild cases,
Treats all kinds of nameless swellings and sores, erysipelas, flowing abscesses, etc.; it is most suitable for use.
Forsythia Fruit (Lianqiao) (7-8 qian), Tail of Angelica Sinensis Root (Guiwei) (3 qian), Licorice Root (Gancao) (1 qian), Honeysuckle Flower (Jinyinhua), Spatholobus Stem (Hongteng) (4-5 qian), decoct with good wine, take as previously described. If the pathogenic factor...
Treats various toxins from carbuncles and sores, reduces swelling, relieves pain, and dissipates toxicity. Those not yet suppurated will dissipate immediately; those already suppurated will gather the toxin and rapidly ulcerate, leading to cure. In cases where Yang toxin is blazing fierce with severe pain, it is initially appropriate to use this formula, whose efficacy in resolving toxicity and dissipating pathogens is miraculous. For hard, stubborn, deep-seated, and fixed conditions, use the following formula.
Fresh Mint Leaf (Boheye), White Imperata Rhizome (Maogen), Wild Chrysanthemum Flower (Yejuhua) (a handful including roots and leaves), Chinese Mugwort Rhizome (Tu Beimu) (halved dosage). For the mint and wild chrysanthemum, if dried, they can be ground into powder; retain the remaining soup from the previous step, and it is advisable to replace/add it.
Following Formula: For carbuncle toxins that are hard, stubborn, deep-seated, as well as tubercles and phlegm stagnation, this formula is appropriate.
Aconite Lateral Root (Sheng Nanxing), Chinese Mugwort Rhizome (Tu Beimu), Mirabilite (Puxiao) (equal parts), Mint (Bohe) (double dosage), Calcined Lime (Duanshi) (if weathered, double dosage, or even quadruple dosage). Grind the above together into powder, spread on silk cloth. Or add Borneol (Bingpian).
(Total Records) Treats brain carbuncle and back carbuncle, pain after perforation and ulceration.
Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui), Rehmannia Root (Sheng Dihuang), Peony Root (Shaoyao), Astragalus Root (Huangqi), Ginseng Root (Renshen), Roasted Licorice Root (Gancao zhi), Cinnamon Twig (Guangui).
Angelica Sinensis and Rehmannia invigorate blood and cool blood. Ginseng and Astragalus benefit Qi and tonify the Middle Jiao. Cinnamon Twig resolves toxicity and transforms pus. (When the toxin transforms into pus, the pain naturally stops.)
Peony... medicinal substances... dampness... disharmony.
