The *Classic* states: When a girl reaches fourteen, Tian Gui (substances that promote reproductive function) arrives, the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) becomes unobstructed, and the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) flourishes, causing menstruation to occur at regular intervals. If excessive sexual intercourse, too many births, or sudden anger damages the True Qi internally, leading to the rupture and damage of the Ren Mai, blood will flow heavily downward, suddenly stopping only with difficulty, resembling the abruptness of a landslide. Treatment should employ Ejiao Tang (Donkey-Hide Gelatin Decoction) and Bugong Wan (Uterus-Nourishing Pill), half a jin in dosage, for recovery. One must absolutely avoid using hemostatic herbs, lest other diseases arise; if prolonged, severe metrorrhagia may become incurable. If the bleeding is excessively heavy and the patient feels dizzy, urgently moxa-stimulate the Shimen (CV5) acupoint, and the bleeding will stop immediately. (Metrorrhagia refers to a condition where the blood of the congenital and postnatal Chong and Ren vessels, as well as the whole body, fails to retain and control it, causing sudden violent downward flow like a landslide or overflowing water, which cannot be halted without heavy doses of Renshen (Ginseng Root) and Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root) to rescue the collapsing Yang. Occasionally, there are excess patterns, which should be differentiated based on physical signs.)
Uterine deficiency-cold causes turbid qi to coagulate in the lower jiao, preventing the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) and Ren Mai (which corresponds to the uterus here) from nourishing each other, resulting in the continuous discharge of foul-smelling leukorrhea. Treat with Bugong Wan (Uterus-Nourishing Pill) and Jiao'ai Tang (Donkey-Hide Gelatin and Mugwort Decoction). For severe cases, moxa-stimulate the Baomen (SP14) and Zihu (SP12) acupoints, thirty moxa cones each; this not only cures the disease but also facilitates fertility. (Leukorrhea affects nine out of ten women, primarily due to root Qi deficiency causing the Dai Mai (Girdle Vessel) to fail in its restraining function. However, there are also cases of Spleen Qi sinking, damp-turbidity retention, Qi deficiency failing to hold, and Yang deficiency failing to secure. Master Dou’s attribution solely to uterine deficiency-cold is indeed a profound insight.)
My internal organs' Qi is deficient and declining, blood vessels are stagnant, and I have developed an abscess due to pathogenic Wind-Cold lodging. Alternatively, heat accumulation in the Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming can also cause such conditions. Initially, one feels aversion to cold with high fever; take one dose of Jiusheng Tang (Life-Saving Decoction). If three to five days pass, continue taking it in larger amounts to achieve efficacy.
After pregnancy, excessive sexual activity or consumption of cold foods that cannot be digested leads to incessant vomiting and regurgitation, along with the discharge of foul matter from the lower part. Jin Ye Dan (Golden Elixir Pill) and Pili San (Thunderbolt Powder) can be taken for immediate relief. (Tai Ni (Fetal Reversal) is equivalent to morning sickness, commonly known as "illness of the fetus." If one maintains careful daily routine, abstains from sexual intercourse, and regulates diet, not only will the risk of "fetal illness" be avoided, but childbirth will also be easier. If strict precautions are taken yet illness persists, it is because the pregnant woman has a weak constitution and significant deficiency of Qi and Blood.)
