Foot movement is difficult, and the condition worsens; needling the Taichong (LR3) acupoint ensures no other complications.
Zhongfeng (KI7) and Zusanli (ST36) are both marvellous; needling both acupoints simultaneously yields excellent results.
Taichong (LR3): Located two cun above Xingjian (LR2). Perpendicular insertion 0.5 cun; moxibustion is contraindicated.
Zusanli (ST36): See previous text.
Zhongfeng (KI7): Located above the ankle joint, in the depression medial to the tendon. Insertion 0.5 cun; moxibustion 14 moxa cones (two sevens).
Spleen cold caused by malaria is most pitiable, with alternating chills and fever tormenting the patient.
One must use a gold needle to reduce (sedate) Jianshi (PC5); reducing heat and tonifying cold will lead to recovery.
Jianshi (PC5): Located three cun proximal to the distal palmar crease, between the two tendons. Perpendicular insertion penetrating towards Zhigou (TE6); moxibustion 14 moxa cones. If heat predominates, use reduction method; if cold predominates, use tonification method. Needle insertion...
Epidemic malaria is hardest to control; the acupoint selection method has always been clearly understood.
If Houxi (SI3) can be located, adding more moxa fire will lighten the disease.
Houxi (SI3): Located posterior to the base of the fifth metacarpal bone, at the tip of the transverse crease when making a fist. Insertion 0.5 cun; moxibustion 7 moxa cones. The tonification and reduction methods are the same as those for Jianshi (PC5).
Scrofula (Luo Li) originates similarly to hidden rashes; treatment requires selecting a skilled physician.
There is an acupoint in the elbow named Tianjing (TE10); once treated with a gold needle, merit is achieved.
Tianjing (TE10): Located in the depression above the olecranon process. The method for locating it is to place hands on hips before needling; internally lies Shaohai (HT3), externally lies Xiaohai (SI8). Insertion 0.3 cun; use reduction method.
The nine types of hemorrhoids are most harmful; the Chengshan (BL57) acupoint works miraculously.
Even if the patient suffers severe pain and groans, one puncture of Changqiang (GV1) can eradicate the root of the disease.
Chengshan (BL57): Located eight cun above Puxuan (BL60), in the intermuscular space below the calf muscle belly.
Changqiang (GV1): Located below the twenty-first vertebra, exactly in the center of the coccygeal major bone. Insertion 1 cun; treat this point only when there is severe pain. Moxibustion 14 moxa cones; use reduction method. Furthermore...
Fecal impaction and inability to pass stool: Zhaohai (KI6) is clearly located in the foot.
Furthermore, stimulating Zhigou (TE6) with reduction method reveals the divine skill of the physician.
Zhaohai (KI6): At the inferior border of the medial malleolus, on the junction of white skin. Insertion 0.4 cun; use reduction method.
Zhigou (TE6): See previous text.
Generalized body pain is abnormal; one should carefully examine the non-fixed acupoints.
Areas with tendons and bones require shallow insertion; moxibustion applied temporarily must be measured carefully.
Non-fixed acupoint (Buding Xue): Also known as Ashi point or Tianying point; needle wherever there is pain. After needling, the patient may lie down; bleeding from needling is permissible; slight moxibustion may be applied.
