Redness, swelling, and unbearable pain in the eyes, aversion to sunlight, photophobia, and inner anxiety.
Simply needle the Jingming (BL1) and Yutai (Tongziliao, GB1) acupoints; bleeding from the Taiyang channel will completely eliminate the disease.
Jingming (BL1): Located in the inner canthus at the lacrimal punctum. Insert 1.5 fen, slightly towards the nose, using reducing method. Moxibustion is contraindicated.
Yutai (Tongziliao, GB1): Also known as Tongziliao, located at the outer canthus at the tip of the eyebrow. Insert 1 fen, subcutaneously inward to penetrate Yuyao, using reducing method. Moxibustion is contraindicated. The Taiyang point is located on the forehead...
Sudden eye pain with blood penetrating the pupil, hidden dryness and photophobia are most detestable.
If toxic blood is released from the Taiyang channel, peace will return naturally without need for needle insertion.
Taiyang point: Located on the purple vein on the forehead; induce bleeding by pricking with a three-edged needle. Should be used in conjunction with Jingming (BL1).
Heart fire flaring upward causes redness in both eyes; use reed leaves inserted into the nose to induce sneezing/bleeding.
If bleeding occurs from the nose, it is truly beneficial; coolness in the eyes demonstrates miraculous efficacy.
Neiyingxiang: Located inside the nostrils; roll reed leaves or chopstick leaves into tubes and insert them to induce sneezing/bleeding, with bleeding indicating improvement. Should be used in conjunction with Hegu (LI4).
Wind-dizziness and ulcerated eyes are pitiable; tears flowing profusely cause real suffering.
Dagu Kong and Xiaogu Kong are truly excellent acupoints; moxibustion of seven moxa cones removes the root of the disease.
Dagu Kong: Located at the apex of the second phalanx of the thumb. Moxa seven cones.
Xiaogu Kong: Located at the apex of the second phalanx of the little finger. Moxa seven cones; needle insertion is contraindicated.
Liver blood deficiency leads to blurred vision; tonification at Ganshu (BL18) is superior.
Reducing Zusanli (ST36) benefits liver blood, making the pupils clear and flawless.
Ganshu (BL18): Located one and a half cun lateral to the spinous process of the ninth thoracic vertebra on the back. Moxa seven cones; insert needles 2 fen.
Zusanli (ST36): Located three cun below the knee, on the lateral aspect of the tibia. Insert needles 3 fen, using reducing method.
(Attachment: Redness, swelling, and sores)
Deafness due to qi obstruction prevents hearing; pain and itching like cicada chirping are hard to bear.
For redness, swelling, and sores, reducing method must be used; treat solely through Tinghui (GB2) with golden needles.
Tinghui (GB2): Located in the depression anterior to the tragus; open the mouth to locate the point. Insert horizontally downward 0.5 cun; moxa fourteen cones. Should be used in conjunction with Hegu (LI4) and Zusanli (ST36).
(Two Symptoms)
If a person suffers ear disease resulting in deafness, first seek the Yifeng (TE17) acupoint.
If scrofula (Lizi) appears on the neck, skillfully applying reducing needle therapy marks a good practitioner.
Yifeng (TE17): Located in the depression posterior to the earlobe; open the mouth to locate the point. Insert needles 0.5 cun, using reducing method; moxa seven cones.
