Hemorrhoid prolapse (Tuogang) occurs due to intestinal deficiency and cold resulting from dysentery, compounded by the use of Qi-moving medications. Scrotal prolapse (Tuonang) refers to the swelling, descent, and subsequent ulceration of the scrotum. In infants, this is often caused by crying and anger leading to rebellious Qi (Qiqu), combined with the accumulation and failure to disperse of Yin Qi. The so-called Yin Qi is Jue Qi. These two types of Qi flow downward into the Jueyin meridian, and its treatment method is no different from that for adults. Generally speaking, the scrotum contracts when exposed to cold, relaxes when exposed to heat, and feels heavy when exposed to dampness.
When Heart Qi accumulates heat, ascending Qi follows the meridians upward to the tongue, causing blood vessels to swell. This gradually leads to swelling filling the mouth and blocking the throat. If not treated urgently, it becomes critical. One should first use bian stone (Bianshi) to prick and bleed, then administer substances such as Zixue (Purple Snow), Puxiao (Mirabilite), and Puhuang (Pollen Typhae).
Qian Zhongyang (Qian Yi) uses Dihuang Wan (Rehmannia Pill) to tonify the Kidney. Although this differs from the aforementioned method, the essence is the same.
Jingti (Startle Crying) arises when Wind Evil attacks the Heart, causing the Heart Spirit to become unsettled, leading to restless sleep. Yeti (Night Crying) is due to internal cold. At night, Yin Qi is abundant; when it combats with Cold, the Cold moves and combines with the Zang Qi, causing irritability or pain, hence the crying at night. There are also cases where crying results from violating taboos, which can be stopped using magical methods. Quti (Body Crying) is caused by fetal injury from Wind and Cold; when Evil Qi combats with Healthy Qi, abdominal pain occurs, causing the body to curl up and cry. Generally, Jingti is treated with formulas that clear the Liver and Heart, and calm the Spirit and anchor the Soul. Yeti is treated with formulas that warm and harmonize Qi and Blood. Quti is treated similarly. *San Yin Fang* states there are four types of Yeti: Cold, Heat, Chongshe (Heavy Tongue) and Mouth Sores, and Keyu (Guest Intoxication/Stranger Shock). If accompanied by abdominal pain, with a bluish-white face, cold breath, cold abdomen, and crying while curling the abdomen, this is a Cold pattern. If the Heart is restless with a red face, dark urine, hot mouth, warm abdomen, crying with possible sweating, and crying while lying on the back, this is a Heat pattern. Keyu involves crying due to being offended by the aura of strangers. Cold patterns are treated with pills made of Garlic and Ruxiang (Frankincense); Heat patterns are treated with Denghuasan (Lamp Wick Powder); Chongshe is treated by sprinkling stir-fried Puhuang on the tongue; Mouth Sores are treated by sprinkling Muli (Oyster Shell) and Gancao (Licorice Root) in the mouth; Keyu is treated by mixing Zaotongtu (Stove Earth) and Qiuyinfen (Earthworm Feces) with water and applying it to the infant's head and five centers (palms and soles). Thus, it can be seen that formulas need not be exhaustive.
